2024 GLC43 Jerky Transmission
Re to So Disappointed
It's been another week or two since they replaced the valve body. Car's been very good since. I'm sure they'll take care of you.
I never open the sunroof so perhaps I'll just leave it.
Still, it's a bummer to go thru it. Will see what I think after another 32-1/2 months. We've had 4 great MB's going back a few years. Maybe their AMG not for us.

My 2024 AMG GLC has had the Transmission Valve Body changed, and is smoother most of the time but can still jerk
when pulling away from say a partial stop at say a roundabout, and can still be felt go through the gears not smoothly, the delay when asking for quick acceleration again say to get in at a roundabout is very bad, something I am not used to in my V6 VW MK2 Touareg which pulls away instantly and very smoothly.
so I am going ahead with the Rejection. The 9 speed Transmission in this model does not marry well the 48HR Battery.

I just dropped the car at the dealer and my service advisor said that a new software for the transmission has come out for the GLE & GLS and they were not aware this issue on GLC so he will apply the software and see if that makes any changes, keeping my 🤞 that will fix the issue, also waiting to see if he finds anything wrong for the brakes locking up when sudden brakeing force applied. I will update once work is done.
Ask for a standstill adaptation which is similar to a forced adaptation (manually adjusts shift points). These are different than a much simpler transmission adaptation reset.

UPDATE:
Just picked up the car after service A was completed. Drove about 33 miles back home and something seems off. The transmission is acting super wonky again: getting confused, seeming to stall, jerking, etc. I have not had my valve body replaced yet but have had the transmission flushed. Not sure what they could have done during service A to "reset" the transmission. This is after they kept the car overnight for service A because of squeaky brakes that were then deemed "normal."
I guess it's going back to the dealership tomorrow...

Mine is back to the old shifting and honestly I don't think they changed the valve body plus how can I tell if I didn't see the process, sunroof is fixed, brakes are still as bad as ever, I have given up and going to Carmax see what they will give me to get rid of this lemon, done with MB. Glad your transmission is good, drove a Porsche Macan same price as MB and it drives very nice brakes and shifting is great

Back at the dealership after taking a test drive with the shop foreman. He was pretty surprised to see how rough the car really was. I have been told that Mercedes Engineering in Germany has been contacted and it will take some time. Driving a C300 loaner which feels like a Rolls Royce in comparison.
Starting to feel anxious about my decision to buy and not lease this car 1 year in.
It's important that anyone experiencing these issues speaks up. Mercedes needs to either remedy the problem or buy the cars back from us for what we paid as my problems started on day 1.
Will keep you all updated as I know more.

I guess it all depends on the dealership, weather they truley care or not, one dealership service advisor told me, the transmission shifting is normal and that the car has to learn your type of driving, which makes absolutely no sense and I did tell him that, but if they dont want to help they make an excuse, the dealr I bought the car in woodlands texas, they said they change the valve body as i said before how do i realy know if they did that or not specially when it did not help, and off course brakes are another story, I am getting my car out hopefully tomorrow from body shop and the advanture to sell or trade the car in for BMW or Porsche starts. Wish me luck

Well the Porsche will having a better shifting transmission, I enjoyed the DCT in the Macan, haven't tried the Cayenne ZF but wouldn't surprised if it is good as ZF generally make good shifting transmission. That said, I hate everything about the Macan, but that was just my experience don't let it deter you. If you need an SUV and want a Porsche branded vehicle better get the Cayenne.

Keep in mind you might find a lot of these very petty https://mbworld.org/forums/general-m...ml#post9039663
Remote start with key fob and you can keep engine on when you open the door.
Digital key (card) you can use a nfc type card to unlock/lock and start vehicle and digital key through UWB in the app.
That said, newer MBs since W214 E class have Digital Key in the phone as well, 2025 GLC (might?) have it as well due to the upgrade from MBUX 2.0 to 3.0
Can set vehicle to turn on heated seats and steering wheel automatically through rules like when temperatures drop below a certain temperature or remote start with those features on. That said, again MBUX 3.0 now has Routines which you can achieve the same.
Walk away lock and approach unlock.
Physical buttons and no capacitive touch (unless you are looking at the all new one)
I am not sure if you are looking at a 2024 or the all new 2025 model since that is all new might have first model year problem.
Inline 6 in the 40i, 50? sounds better and smoother.
MB GLC is made in Germany
I guess in a sense bmw has better build quality if very least less rattles.
MB Burmester 3D will sound better than the Harmon Kardon in the outgoing model bmw same goes with MB with the better digital lights
Bmw has that ZF we discussed.
To be continued I guess but hope it helps.
I am not a bmw person and instead a MB fan but some good things is (short list I might add to it if I can think of more) I can think of is (I included pros and cons of both but mixed, meaning I didnt state which is a pro or con)

Great info, thanks! I would add 'turn on the steering wheel heating' together with the driver seat heating to the remote start function if the outside temperature is below some setting.
I would also like to see the actual battery voltage in the Mercedes me app; if they can display tire pressure, this one should be even easier to implement.
Finally, a question: can I update the MBUX version in my 2022 GLC 43 SUV to 3.0, or is it only available in the '24 or '25 car models?
