GLC 63s AMG
Red face Congrats on your purchase

Ive got the same car but coupe. I love hoe it sounds. But within 3 months I dropped off my car to PPF and they had to take it to MB to get a new battery.

Thanks! That doesn’t sound great…but it’s all very new tech I guess.

when I got my GLE53 there was an issue with the oil sensor so I didn’t make it off the forecourt - hopefully I get further this time!

If it is the same issue as the R232 folks, perhaps it is caused by excess drain when vehicle is off, some updates might solve that, whenever those are out.

this was driving me nuts, as a lot of times i only want to use the heated steering wheel as the seats get way too hot for me. I just got a GLC63 and the only way i have found to do this is to use a voice command. “Mercedes turn on heated steering wheel” works. I would prefer a button, but it’s better than nothing, I guess

That is a good workaround, I wonder how much money did MB saved without the button.

Does dropping the intensity of the seat heating also drop the intensity of the the steering wheel heating or as long as you turn on heated seat, steering wheel heating turns on max?

You can access separate controls for the heated steering wheel by pressing “climate menu” at the very bottom of the touchscreen. In the middle just above the hazard indicator button

I don’t know if it’s different for the United States but this option is not there for me. I have to use the voice command.

There’s a good chance it’s a difference between ‘24 and ‘25. I just had a ‘25 c43 as a loaner and wasn’t a fan at all of the new mbux icons and layout. You might have to access it by one of the icons. Maybe comfort

i've looked everywhere i can possibly look. there's no steering wheel icon anywhere. Another thing I couldnt believe is remote start is gone and now requires a subscription. $100k car and they still nickel and dime you--crazy. My 23 GLC300 had it without a sub. There's also a $200 option to turn on the dashcam, and $250 for the 0 to 60mph recorder. Again, so cheap. The hardware is already there.

GLC 63 Se SUV
My ordered car is due the last week of February. Gone for the premium plus in obsidian black.

I'm excited to get the GLC 63 SE.... I had a 2017 C63 coupe, then switched to a 2020 GLC 63....I'm now in a 2023 C63 coupe....

I decided to go back to the GLC for a few reasons
1) the V8's will be missed, but the difference in sound from 2017 and 2023 was ruined by the soft limiters
2) the tech in my 2023 coupe is poor for a top of the range Merc... They refused to put MBUX in and it was hard to go backwards.
3) There will be another V8 in the CLE 63... It will be interesting to see how that performs.
4) I test drove the GLC, and it blew me away...
5) it's just so much more practical now for my situation.
6) I'm getting fed up of all the Golf R drivers trying to encourage a race lol.

Once I get the motor I'll take a few pics and share.....

so the snow cleared up and I took it out for a couple miles today. I think there’s only one intensity setting for the steering wheel. I could be wrong but that’s what it feels like to me.

I also noticed that there’s really no point plugging this thing in because as long as you keep it in the sport mode, the charge stays between 75 and 100% at all times. I almost wanna cancel the installation of the charger in my house because a standard extension cord is really all you need and you don’t really even need that. I might still keep the installation just to future-proof my house in case I get a new EV or PHEV. If this is the only electric car you plan on owning, I wouldn’t even bother

I see, so that's why, 2024 had MBUX 2.0? and 2025 had MBUX 3.0, the latter which is the same one that debuted on the W214 E-Class and C236 CLE now started to appear on slightly older models.

Interesting, are you sure the 2023 remote start wasn't a trial period? I think it was 1 year? So there is no more trial period with 2025 model year vehicles?

Thank you for confirming.

I guess MB made it a PHEV because so you can have a green plate and use the HOV lane (in some places that electric vehicles has access to without a passenger), otherwise the battery and electric motor just helps with boost.

Actually there is no "remote start" whatsoever on this car. It said to "unlock" it, I had to subscribe, which I did. As soon as I subscribed, "remote start" turned into "pre-entry climate control" or whatever they call it. I guess PHEV/EVs don't have a true "remote start." I think it accomplishes mostly the same thing, but it does seem to drain the battery really fast.

I never paid for anything extra on my 2023. Granted, I did lemon law it before I even had it a year, so if it was only a trial, it was free for me for at least 6 months, unless it was paid when I bought the car, and just didn't notice.

The 2025 has a 30 day trial, but you have to pay otherwise. The trial did not apply to the dashcam, or the Race Pace app or whatever stupid name they call it.

Oh that explains it, yup like you thought, because the pre-entry climate control uses the battery to heat the cabin instead of the engine, sort of like an electric vehicle.

I am not sure if all PHEV does this but MB's PHEV mostly does this, don't use the engine to heat the cabin anymore, I mean it isn't efficient, the engine when cold isn't producing engine heat to pump inside the cabin and if just idling to heat up plus it is not good for the engine. It takes way longer than if using a separate method.
