I would say it's a brake pad thing.... On all of my AMGs the brake pad dust has been disgusting, and I feel like they leave behind an excessive amount of dust after a while....
Keeping things clean seems to work for a while, but when it comes to replacement pads, go for a slightly different pad to see if it changes anything.

You don't want to do too many "emergency stops" as you'll glaze the pads and it will get even worse, and possibly dangerous.

Also ..I feel like the weight of these cars, means the brakes are working mega hard, which can also contribute.

That is good to hear. Except the fuel economy, although I am glad it was converted to smiles per miles instead.

Yes, they are very soft, that is why people go aftermarket such as Redstuff. I mean, MB does offer ceramic brakes on AMGs, just not sure if it is worth the upfront cost for some.

Thank you everyone for the tips on the bed-in procedure. I have an opportunity to do that tonight on a drive so hopefully that will resolve it.

And I chose the SUV over the sedan because it just rode so well. The GLC63S was also on the lot and I was looking for a new car prior to Mercedes announcing that tariffs would not affect MY25 vehicles; I was trying to avoid having to pay those. With that said, no regrets on choosing the SUV!

Good idea to take advantage of the tariff break on 2025s.

You’re either gonna do zero or you’re gonna do 20 there’s no just riding the brakes from 20 to 5mph. I mean it literally would take two minutes to complete 20 to 0 just by itself without a complete stop the way the car acts. It doesn’t feel like a normal car. It’s hard to explain, it almost feels like a video game. I can do it with the z06 just fine. Maybe i can play with the settings, but as is it just feels pointless. I did it about 15 times, made zero difference

Fair enough, it is not your fault, it is the car, actually it is my fault, I forgot the car has strong regen, it barely uses the brakes anyways so bed-in will be difficult. Sorry about that.

Weird. When you say “half the time”, do you notice any correlation between your statement and the battery level, battery temperature, outside temperature, etc?

if i turn the car off and turn it on again right away it seems to work. But then when i turn it off (park it, go into the store) and then on again it gives me the same error again until i turn it off and on again.

update bugged something out

Wow, that’s BS. Always the worst when a software update breaks something that was working fine before!

Hopefully this gets resolved shorty.

What's the battery level like when you want to switch to ev mode. It generally doesn't allow you to go into ev mode if the battery is in the last quarter of charge?!

Digital cluster update

Has anyone pushed through their cluster update? The one that helps with automatic lane change?!

Do we know how long it takes.... It's taken at least 90 mins so far and not even got to 50% I think.
The reason I ask.... It seems to "brick" the car until it's done....
No communication from the app to the car, can't unlock the car.....

is this why my lane changing has been so aggressive lately? I don’t like it at all. I wonder if I can turn it off

It took me about 10 tries when we did it a few weeks ago

AMG GLC63 E-Performance Edition 1
Nice!!!

Love it - I've been off these forums for a while.

But I have to jump in... there has been a lot of slack about the new 4cyl hybrid system.

Background I have owned 2 x c63s v8s (sedan & coupe) over the past 10 years.

Yes, the V8 sound will be missed - But this car is better in every other way. PPL need to go drive it before trolling.

I swtiched the the GLC63 E per - Edition one! It's one sexy car. Full stop. No issues yet!

I have had a few niggles but usually electric gremlins that either replaced themselves or don’t cause an issue.

I had the V8 and it is different but this car in my eyes ticks soooo many boxes. I love the Edition 1 Spec! I could have got one in the UK but already have a Magno car and it didn’t have the carbon steering wheel! So I opted for the White and don’t regret it!

Hopefully more people will start being braver with the variant!!!

Brake pads

Hey peeps, I'm at that stage where I I'm needing to look at sets of brake pads. I've been told by my GP to garage that is a Mercedes only job... Has anyone looked at replacing the standard pads, if so what make and model?!
