Hi guys just purchased 2025 GLC 63s black highly optioned. I have question for anybody who knows why they install something like this on rear bumper (it's removable) and if can be replaced with nice CF piece or anything better looking than this ugly piece. Thank you for all answers.

Another thing is, those are only used on MB coupe models, the C238 E-Class coupe ones are much better looking, you can say the tailigihts look like the eyes and eye brows, the star is the nose and the bumperettes is the mustache. https://www.autotrader.ca/editorial/...d3a64fc43e70d0

Perhaps you could wrap it and make it look prettier? I am not sure if you have someone that could probably custom or 3D print something and install using the same holes once the oem ones are removed. Perhaps with something that can withstand heat from the exhaust.
One thing to keep in mind though, that bumperettes is meant to protect you in the case of an accident or fender bender, well, um perhaps, sort of, at least that is the idea. I think the main reason actually was so that you don't have to replace the whole bumper and just replace those two pieces when vehicle is read-ended.

To my understanding the bumperette regulation is that if the car is hit at under 5 MPH the damage to the car shall be ZERO dollars to repair. The bumperettes are there to make the car adhere to that regulation. You can thank the insurance industry & their lobbyist for this rule as if there is no damage in the 5 MPH impact then the insurance company is out zero dollars. Good for them 'eh? You get bumperettes, they get fewer claims to pay."
So apparently, these are meant to protect the insurance company, not the victim of the vehicle. Boo.

Shake my head, ya just change it to European one and call it a day, that said, depending on your State and insurance company, hopefully modifications like these won't be an issue.
