Has anyone changed out Coupe Red Calipers to a SUV?

 

You need to be a bit more specific on year and model.

They are the same size rotors so would bolt straight on at a guess. Wouldn’t it be cheaper to get yours painted. The paint on them from factory is not that great. Paint them in automotive 2 pak paint. I did my wife’s in a clear over base.

 

Very Nice ! I'll look into that, but I think the Red's are a different casting.

 

Um...no, it is a different paint. I might be 100% wrong but I am pretty sure the ceramics are the same but for paint and pad material.

 

Im still confused as to why the brake calipers would be different from the coupe to the suv version if both are 63's? Am I understanding this post clearly?

 

on those red calipers that you painted, how on god's green earth were you able to paint the amg logo design nearly perfect in a contrasting color against the red background?

 

The AMG Logo is a sticker that you apply over top of the colour coat and then clear coat over it all.

 

correct you can purchase them on eBay for $10.

The ceramics are painted in a coppery yellow colour aren’t they. That is a whole another option on top of the S performance package.

 

New here, where can you get the spray paint? How big a challenge to remove and install the calipers? Pretty handy but if there's anything special would be good to know. Thanks
