Quote: Wonder why the VPC rather than someone at the factory? Would it be built and shipped but not updated? Seems like a phone call would have been faster. I didn't realize that yours was so far past the build date, was thinking 2 weeks+.
VPC receives the car when it is done, so I'm assuming they are the ones to check status. Mine is 15 days past the "production date;" it's been 5 weeks since production started.

Quote: I just spoke to the "executive referral manager" at MBUSA who was supposed to be looking into my build. He said he has sent my info to the "logistics team at the VPC" and is waiting for a response. My production started 5 weeks ago today! Frustrating!
There is an an auto show in dallas today thru the weekend at the convention center. Although I think its a dealers show, there was an MBUSA rep at the MB section. Spoke to her a little about the delays to see what she had to say, and it is no surprise that she was clueless, or acted that way. It's very frustrating that straight talk is so hard to come by. At least put the people that have ordered one in touch with a rep that can answer questions without all the shuffling around. Just say there is a delay, we are hoping for xx-weeks out, and if that changes, we'll have your sales guy call you. Just tell us what to expect, and be truthful to the extent of knowledge. I know there is someone at MB that can do that. But when you get right down to it, it is probably unreasonable for MB to cater to individuals in such a manner. Not like were in an exclusive club here with MB. I told the rep it was a bad sign that a guy with a new MB on order is looking at the competition at the auto show, but it was pretty clear that they don't really need my order.

The Cayenne that I left behind for the GLE450 was looking pretty spiffy. I guess it will just come down to the amount of patience us E-ABC guys have (assuming that's the bottom line here). Seems like new GLE's are still being shipped; dealer got some more.

Vehicle production tracking

Well, the home company seems to have it figured out in Germany!

"Convenient to track home production status of the car.

People spend 374 days of their lives waiting for something. During the waiting time between ordering their Mercedes-Benz and taking delivery, we enthuse our customers by digital means. A new tool within “Mercedes me” makes it possible after ordering the desired vehicle to track its production status online from the comfort of your own home, or while travelling: Between the ordering and delivery time, Mercedes-Benz offers new car buyers in Germany exclusive insights into the production of their Mercedes-Benz car in real time, so as to heighten the “Joyful Anticipation”. The new service from Mercedes me is a very special brand experience on a PC, tablet or smartphone."https://www.mercedes-benz.com/en/mer...enz-customers/

How irksome. Apparently no "Joyful Anticipation" for us here in the US.

I can almost see Greg smile. Don’t retail orders take precedence over dealer orders. Or does Mercedes show sold orders in dealer inventory.

What I saw was “coming soon!” Do they actually have it? My dealer was showing like 8 vehicles online that they had not received yet.

I am pretty frustrated with MB Canada also, two years ago when I order GLS350. After waited for 4 months, week before delivery they told me no more Diesel engine.

When switching my order to GLE they told me to put down another 8k CND to show I am committed for the purchase. I was like I already have 10k down and now with out a delivery date you need another 8k ? I called MB Canada and complaint about the issue, with in a hour they have a manager place my GLE order over the phone. I really don’t know what’s going on with MB.

I am not sure if they have it yet but from what I have seen recently they show coming soon once the car has been shipped from the factory.

Agreed, it’s an indication that at least one with E-ABC has recently been built. If that was the reason some were held up then it could be good news for others.

Out of the total 5-6 tE-ABC hat were built in Feb - there are total (2) that were slotted for US dealer delivery - both as customer sold units in the NE.

For E-ABC - 3rd Decade March thru 4th decade April (original "updated production dates) there are 94 slotted for production - May thru 1st week June 29.

With 370+ US dealers - anyone can do the math - oh - May E-ABC orders still changeable/swappable for a few more days..

Reporting back on my build with MBUX Tech package....My build shows the DA 0 included as ordered with no change. This leads me to believe that Mercedes is fighting a shortage of some component from Suppliers.

Production delay
Still nothing from the MBUSA “executive referral manager” on mine after 4 days, 2 phone calls and 3 emails. 16 days past my production date now. I’m going to heat thing up come Monday.

I don’t blame you, they appear to be stalling. The factory or someone knows exactly and could look it up.
If the post by Fabbrisd1 is correct then they are still a month out on E-ABC. Even if they only built 2 yours should have been first. It’s not likely that anyone placed an order sooner and we know that Joe’s was later but appears to be one of the two built.

Unless I am missing something, it looks as if e-abc has been removed from the description for this vehicle.

How did they get it to $91k? ADP? I don't see E-ABC or Airmatic, AMG Exterior or Interior, panorama sunroof, leather, etc. Diver Assistance Plus and MBUX Technology are the only big packages.

I couldn’t find E-ABC but the 91K price tag doesn’t seem to fit the options listed. No AMG, the lower priced Burmeister, gas shocks, no premium leather, etc. The description would put in the 70’s so they may have the wrong vehicle info.

Picture does not match the description (no AMG Line, panorama roof, shows 20" wheels, not 19s). Only MB-Tex seats for $91k? But hey, urethane shift knob - I'm sold!

Saw the new GLE at the DFW auto show today, people couldn't get enough of it. Really pretty Blue on the display car. Now if Mercedes can iron out production and supply their dealers like they do with the GLC and GLS they would actually sell a lot of them.

Sport exhaust with AMG Line Exterior
I'm still seeking an answer to whether the "functional sport exhaust" in the AMG Line Exterior package is a valved system. In the photo JoeMa posted a while back, I've pointed to what looks like could be part of a valve assembly. The fact there are two pipes to each outlet also point to this. If anyone has the chance to see a 450 AMG Line would you please get a photo that shows more of this area?
