bikedude... How is GLE inventory in your neck of the woods? - Around here, pickings are slim right now... especially if you want one with driver assistance. Hope there's more to choose from where you are...

GLEs are extremely 'slim pickings' out here... I think there's perhaps 3 in the province. One problem is that none of them are spec'd the way mine was, and that is heart-breaking; I was very happy with my selections (Although they look very sharp, I am personally not a fan of the running boards - I kept getting my dress pants dirty on the way in; I also want one with the 21" AMG multispoke wheels, as I purchased a set of the 20" 5-twin spoke wheels for my winters... so I like the different looks between the summer & winter seasons).
Probably the bigger problem over here (are you listening, Mercedes?!) is the Intelligent Drive Package - it doesn't work out here. Specifically, I am told that the combination of weather and US-border radar "fouls up" the radar sensor in the IDP systems, and knocks it offline. I briefly had a '19 GLC-300 with IDP, and experienced this problem first-hand; on the maiden voyage home from the dealership, IDP kept going offline continuously - it was downright embarrassing.
On any/every(!) trip IDP would initially function for about 20 minutes, and then crash; once 'offline' (not available), all my driver assistance & safety features were gone - no cruise, no lane departure, no blind spot, no lane keep, etc - it was both frustrating and dangerous, especially for such a prestigious vehicle. About 3 minutes after each crash IDP would 'reboot' and then resume again; however, after the initial 'crash/fail', it would only run about 5-8 minutes again until the next crash - and that was that.
In the spring of '19 I was travelling on a highway when the system (as usual) crashed; in this case I wasn't able to respond quick enough (to the lane keeping assistance shut-down), and the GLC wandered into another lane; thank God that the other driver reacted - he swerved, and was able to avoid a highway speed collision. After this, particular incident I got in contact in MB Canada, and they confirmed that this problem was a "known issue", and that there was no solution for it - in other words, too bad, so sad.
Pressing the issue, I was able to learn that this is indeed a common problem; even the service manager's brothers (2 of them) apparently both have the same problem with their Benz vehicles, too.
The solution came in the form of trading out of the GLC (with IDP) and buying the GLE (without IDP, but with Lane Keeping Assist as a stand-alone option) - and that was an acceptable compromise.
Now, for whatever reason, MB has decided to remove Lane Keeping Assist as a stand-alone option; this now forces a Benz buyer to choose between NO driver safety features, or a system that is both known & confessed-to as being bad... an impossible choice, really.
Bottom line: given MB's ongoing lack of solution (apparently for 4+ years now) Benz owners have to live without the safety features if they want a reliable vehicle.
In my case I will have to wait until the '21s arrive - hopefully I can get in line for a fresh one on the production line; at least that way I can get the same spec again (minus the Lane Keeping...)

E300 lease was up ... switched to GLE in exact same color combination. First drove the GLE 350, liked it, but unsold myself to the:450:and I’m really glad I did. Love this SUV!

I recently got my whole roof redone because there was some rattling noises coming from it, ever since I felt the roof doesn’t open as far back as it’s used to?
thanks in advance!!!

Finally had some decent weather so I had the ceramic coating done. It's a cloudy day so the shine isn't the greatest but I'm very happy with the results ! Love my new GLE450 !

Here are some pictures of my wife's GLE 580. I bought her a GLE 450 in December but MBUSA is buying it back due to multiple electronic issues they have not been able to figure out. The 580 was not available in December but it was available in late March! This has 22" wheels, AMG night package, and many more options. This one is Obsidian Black while the GLE 450 was normal black.

Both of my previous cars were Obsidian Black. I've seen regular black at my dealer and honestly there isn't much of a difference. In bright sunlight, you can see tiny metallic particles in the Obsidian black which is really cool, in all other conditions they are virtually identical.

@NYCKING black is a deep black. Obsidian black has a slight gray/silver tint to it.
