GLE580 Due "Late Q3 2019"
Well if what MBUSA has written me is factual, then there will be such a vehicle and it will be of limited availability so a new thread is in order...anyone with knowledge of this please post!
Response from MBUSA to clarify there will be a 580:

Has to be the 4.0L V8 if true. It's the theoretical replacement for the old ML550 models. Since BMW is over 500hp (523hp) for their 850i and 2020 750i, I suspect the 580 badge will replace the 560 badge over the next few years. If it is a V8 I would look for at least 500hp. The people who have clamoring for a non AMG V8 GLE will now get their wish it seems. Exciting!!!

Actually at this moment the model call out is GLE560 - which can be changed at any time - and there will be about 200 or so made - may not even be publicly announced on website actually... has to do with delayed availability of GLE63... a "orphan model" one year very limited availability.... very/very narrow dealer order window on allocation

Well... just to "informally" offer this... "EQ-Boost" is a BIG BET - GLE560 could be the "orphan year" precedent to 2nd/EQ-Boost/engine - the-not-to-be-spoken-of-yet-but-rumored-580/EQ8... and also there could be a 3rd/engine not-to-be-spoken-now-not-yet-labeled-yet-EQ4 ....

I would have guessed that. The 2020 model year is right around the corner so it would need to be revealed/introduced now in order to make the cut for the 2020 MY. The real mystery is why show the GLE53 now and it's not coming until FALL of 2020 as a 2021 MY vehicle? Inexplicable.

I guess this model explains why the GLE53 won't arrive until the 2021 model year. For 2020 this GLE580 will be the top of the line choice I guess. For 2021 the GLE53 and GLE63 models will take over I guess. Kinda silly product launch IMO. Makes no sense to keep the GLE580 after the 53 and 63 arrive unless you want to have a 6-cylinder "AMG" model under the GLE580 in hp/performance. What the hell is going on a MBUSA?

I disagree, I would much rather have an 8 Cylinder GLE without the AMG interior, personally. I think it's a) quieter and b) more comfortable without the sport seats. Just my personal preference. And it seems like the 580 is going to in fact be a limited edition only this year only, tot fill the gap until the G63 arrives.

I wonder if there will be a GLE63 and a GLE63s? I think offering a non S makes no sense just like not offering a GLC63s SUV in Canada and Australia but not the US.

My SA sent me an update MY20 GLE guide and it includes reference to the newly announced GLE 580. 4.0 litre turbo V-8. 483 hp, 516 torque plus EQ Boost numbers. I agree with the earlier comment that this is essentially replacement of the much-loved ML550...which I still drive. Personally, this GLE 580 interests me more than the GLE 53...can't beat a torquey boosted V8. I also note two new colors....Mojave Silver and Emerald Green.
I tried to upload the GLE guide I mentioned, but it's 5.7 mb and this forum limits attachments to 5.0 mb.

Base cost is $76,800 USD. 580 model includes additional standard features including 1) premium package, 2) AMG Line Exterior, 3) aromatic suspension, and 4) 20" AMG five spoke wheels (RZV or RZW...depending on whether you pay for the night package).

Any reason you can see for not stating the tow rating on the GLE 580? The other GLE are all 7700lbs? I wonder what the payload rating will be other GLE are around 1100lbs.
Looks like just what I need to replace M class Bluetec I need max torque for towing. A reduced tow rating will stop me from ordering.

Note the GLE580 will be very/very limited in #'s this year and MB has been very clear to dealers on that - and that GLE's will be delivered LATE in 4th Quarter - however with "little bit of work" your MB Dealer can configure a Factory order for you on the GLE580 - NOW - and submit as a PO Request as a Customer-Sold-Unit which will get the Dealer and You priority when the production quantity is set and allocated out.
"A little bit of work" means the PO Request will not be priced in the NetStar PO Request - because officially the MSRP Base Model and MSRP Options for the GLE580 have not been Officially Released - and Officially they will NOT be Officially Released for some time.
However your dealer can give you a pretty solid estimate - by pulling estimated MSRP Base Model from the DOG - and pulling estimated MSRP for the Options from the GLE DOG as well. Based on prior history/track-record with other models as they launch - this MSRP Estimate NOW will be very close to what will be final MSRP.
On the 22's - the DOG "might" be a bit off-kilter/maybe - on Spare Tire as shown - it is possible 22's maybe Tire Fit and not Spare - for 22's High Performance Tires are spec'd from the factory - tas compared to All-Season for the other GLE wheel sizes. For 22's the good news for those who need to drive under 40F - with Speed Limited at 130MPH - you "could" check aftermarket to see if there might be a All-Season and/or Light Truck tire out there in "fittable" sizes similar to what the GLE-Coupe guys have been doing for cooler weather and/or longer tread life.
The "TBD" for towing capacity has to do with this is a ECO-Boost V8 power-train - moving that into SUV and frankly I am told the Engineers are still working that out on what/how to program the ECO-Boost E-Motor for the V8 when trailer is hooked up to FACTORY installed trailer hitch... same engineering challenge they went thru on the GLE450 ECO-Boost when that drive train was designed. Should turn out fine just like GLE450 - my opinion.
At face-value - with 4L-V8- Eco-Boost - at estimated Base-Model like $76K - frankly gets you into that Power Train quite affordably - again my opinion... i
