Hilarious. No one knows anything and outside of a picture, no one knows anything about any of those GLEs. Why do you guys do this to yourselves? No amount of calling or posting here is going to change anything.

The C-Class production might be moved back to Germany or wherever to alleviate what is going on here(delays), thus freeing up capacity to focus on SUVs.

Might they be stockpiling 2020 GLS and GLE Coupes for release in a few months? That would seem normal and might account for some of them!

Must be a mess, I am not sure how a company this size end it up like this. Not their first day in the business dealing with supplier.

So just got a good call from my SA, my 450 which was ordered in early December with a scheduled production date of 4/3, that was then pushed to May 26th, is now complete and in transit. I did not have E-ABC, did have the trailer hitch and MBUX tech package which seemed to be problematic but who knows.

One might turn your comments around....why do you care why are you following and posting in this thread? Are you buying a GLE?
Many if not all of those posting are concerned about their purchase or pending purchase. If not concerned then at least we are curious about the issue and if it includes GLE’s we purchased. I’m sure you didn’t mean it but your post seems a little insulting.

Sorry, I just find it hilarious that so many conclusions are drawn based on nothing. Those cars in the pic could be waiting for export or repairs. How does anyone here know either way? Now I think it's fair to say that Mercedes surely botched the launch of the GLE, but are the details going to make a difference here, even if you could get them? No it won't. You're all worrying yourself to death over something you have no control over and just seems silly as hell to me.

The article attached to the picture said that the GLEs pictured were there because of delays. Why are you even in this thread?

There are no conclusions being drawn. Everyone, especially those with orders in, are just wondering what is going on. It’s a harmless speculation; lighten up!

What does knowing that do for you? Do you know what the delay is? Then what?

I would say they need to lighten up actually. Even in a perfect situation you'd still have a wait to get a car built. It think it is clear that Mercedes has botched the GLE launch at this point.

Many customers have have been given promised due dates that were never met. People make plans around these dates, and when Mercedes can’t deliver what they’ve promised, these customers move on. I’m fairly flexible and can wait for mine to arrive but if it gets delayed into the end of Q4, I may look into the gle53 instead. Others are coming off leases and planned on having their new GLE ready by then. How would you feel if you purchased a special order car and they couldn’t give you even an estimate as to when it would come in?

What’s with the attitude? We’re all German car fans here and a lot of the people on here are frustrated. Be positive or get lost.

I just stated that I thought something was hilarious, it was others that got offended by it. I won't even address the part about telling someone to get lost as I respect you more than most here.

My experience here tells me these most here are not even close to being German cars fans, they're just Mercedes buyers. Big difference.

Oh I get it, I just don't see what constantly repeating the same thing over and over is going to do. Some here truly act like they have to know every little detail about everything and that somehow that makes a difference. I have never understood that. It makes no sense IMO. Mercedes already knows they sht the bed here because clearly sales are hurting and they're losing customers at this point.

Hi Guys,

I’ve been trying to get answers to why my car has been delayed and my dealer in the UK hasn’t got an answer to it! I ordered my GLE 450 on 12 Dec 2018 and was told delivery would be by the end of March. At the start of March I contacted the dealer and they told me the car had a chassis and engine number so it was being built so just waiting for it to be dispatched! Well March has come and gone and the car has been pushed back for a fourth time and they now say it’s going back into production on the 22nd May but I’m not holding out on that! As the uk could only spec the AMG line version and at launch only two engines were available you really think this wouldn’t be a big issue for them! E-ABC isn’t an option on our cars so that can’t be the issue although our dealer has said only the 300 diesel has so far arrived with them and as yet no 450’s so is the delay to do with the petrol version?

at least we know one thing that the production plant has issues storing cars that obviously aren’t complete! https://www.wbrc.com/2019/05/15/merc...-new-vehicles/

It was posted either here or the Production Delay thread about a reason more than once. There is likely more than one reason. As I recall there was going to be a recall of 30K units for electrical and a big hit to Mercedes bottom line. No one but Mercedes knows the details and the only reliable information seems to be the official info released to Stock Analysts as part of Financial Results. That is usually skimpy and lately has been more of an excuse than an answer. Your car may be one of those built and stored in the pictures recently posted. Likely software related or maybe a component that can be easily replaced or they wouldn’t keep building them.

What gives you the right to pass judgement on qualifications to be a German Car Fan or a Mercedes Buyer? Actually you aren’t God and know very little about people on this Forum! A real fan might not keep bashing Mercedes for this roll out since no one knows the facts. The fact that the Roll-Out is botched is not a revelation.
What gives you the right to call other people hilarious? That’s just a degrading insult placing you above others in a Judgmental way,
Bashing has no place on these Forums. Most are here because they 1. Have bought a 2020 GLE. 2. Have Ordered a 2020 GLE. 3. Are considering ordering a 2020 GLE. 4. Are looking for help or information about a 2020 GLE. 5. Are comparison shopping looking for information.
You don’t fit any of those categories and recent comments aren’t contributing useful information. So in my humble opinion it’s a legitimate question-Why are you even posting on this thread?

My UK car was scheduled for delivery May 31st, then June 10th, then June 13th, phone call this morning now 21st July. Not too bothered but if they haven't got it for September 1st delivery I will cancel and wait until ist March next year or buy an X5.

This isn't even worth addressing as you seem to actually grasp very little of what I said in the first place or what is written here in general.

I feel the same way. If I don't get mine in July I will start looking for other cars or maybe get myself a GLE43

Won't pick mine up in July with reg change in September, worth a lot less when trading. One of the reasons I am buying the GLE is the mbux, not available on the old model GLE43.

That's weird because in the UK there is not so much difference between the GLE 300d and the GLE450 (apart from the engine): this is mainly the EQ Boost.

Same in the US. There is not so much difference between the GLE 350 and the GLE450 (apart from the engine): this is mainly the EQ Boost.

And in both case you can get your GLE 300d/350 quite quickly and your GLE 450 is delayed for months!

That's why I'm wondering if the production delays wouldn't come from the EQ Boost...

Just ordered my 2020 and was told at the get go that I would have it by Christmas. Yikes. But the dealer was honest with me. My salesman said he bought a new BMW motorcycle and had to wait a year for it. They say the best things are worth waiting for.
