"If the motor vehicle has not been delivered in accordance with this contract within 30 days following the estimated delivery date, the consumer has the right to cancel the contract and to receive a full refund, unless the delay in delivery is attributable to the consumer."
The funny thing is that on that same bill of sale, they entered my Delivery Date as May 4th which is when I actually ordered the vehicle.
Orders in the UK state the following;
"If the Seller fails to make the Goods available for delivery within 60 days of any estimated availability date stated in this Order then unless the Customer has agreed to any such delay the Customer may by notice in writing to the Seller require delivery of the Goods within 10 days of receipt of such notice. If the Goods are not made available for delivery to the Customer within the said 10 days the contract shall be cancelled and the Customer's deposit shall be refunded. The customer's deposit shall not bear interest."
Hi everyone,
I just found this forum while looking for info about why it's taking so long for my GLE450 to get built. Thanks to everyone for the information you all have supplied. It's unfortunate that I'm not the only one experiencing a delay, but I guess misery loves company.
I ordered mine (no E-ABC) on March 21 and I was told the original production date would be April 15. When the day arrived and I checked in on its status, I was told it would be April 30. Once again, I checked in and once again I was told it was not ready and they aren't sure when it will be, but promised I won't be disappointed. Well, I'm already disappointed that it's already been seven weeks and I have no clue when it will be completed.
Anybody have any advice on how to "track" its progress? The sales manager and sales person have said MBUSA won't give them a date. I've looked everywhere for similarly equipped GLEs, but the only two I have found are in Polar White, which is about the only color I don't like. I don't really plan to wait until Aug/Sept, but frankly there's not another car on the market that meets my needs (third row) and wants (the tech, AMG styling) that I like as much as the GLE. I test drove a Q7 and liked it, although I would never buy one that doesn't have the comfort seat package - the regular seats are horribly uncomfortable. But at this price point, it would feel like a disappointment to not get the star on the grille (and the amazing technology that comes with it).
I have a PO#, but I don't know what to do with it to find out when it might be completed. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks again!
Unfortunately, there is not much you can do except have your dealer check NetStar weekly. MBUSA already knows they have a problem and I'm sure are devoting resources to solving it. I reached out to Customer Assistance, emailed the VP for Customer Care, had the dealer contact the regional Distribution people, etc. Something finally worked for me, but I may have had some divine intervention!
Have your dealer send you PDFs of the NetStar page showing status, which also shows each date change, like this:
My loaded GLE450 is finally on its way from factory to Michigan after 2 weeks delay!!! I was wondering if it was going to be longer. However we have re-financed the buy out of our 2015 BMW X5d 2 weeks ago since we were told June/July for delivery so Mercedes really *#$%^ it up. I am going to go see it and test drive it when it comes but not going to buy or lease it. Instead will wait later this fall or next spring to re-order another one and trade in our X5d. Otherwise I am taking a big loss on the buyout of the X5d and the trade in difference which makes it ridiculous. IF I have known only 2 weeks delayed then would of rented a car and waited. I think Mercedes needs to be much more transparent with their dealers and not keeping them out of the loop. Its the most stupidest thing in this century not being able to track things properly....
Also on the side note, I did speak with the Customer service executive which was waste of time but I think it may of sped up the delivery of my GLE like gregs!!

Wow! Ask Mercedes if they’re willing to buy out the BMW for you due to their delays. Otherwise, post your build here, someone may want to claim it if you choose not to purchase it the day it comes in

Thanks, Greg. I'll give that a shot. Super frustrating to have to wait so long, especially when I see plenty of 350s with few options available. I don't want to settle, though.

Question for the group: Do they more or less produce the vehicles in order of PO? I was searching for other vehicles in my area, and saw one with a PO# of 0071779797 on the dealer sticker. My PO# is lower than that. I'm wondering if that means that mine is finished or near finished with production.

I think normally that would be the case, but it appears parts supply issues of various types have been affecting order schedules unpredictably.

I don't think so. PO#'s don't seem to be issued in order. I ordered mine on Jan 29 and the PO# is 70419022 (fairly loaded with e-ABC). My current production date is 6/3/19 but I don't have a VIN assigned yet. This number is much lower than GregW's who ordered in early November and has already received delivery.
I’ve just received an email from my dealer telling me my GLE is showing 11th July now, I was expecting it 7th June and prior to this 15th May. Apparently it’s due to the tech pack plus option that’s causing my delays.
very frustrating as no news if this is sorted and I won’t have further delays!!
i’m UK btw....
Maybe some of the forum members waiting for news already have their GLE manufactured but are waiting for rework. See news article from Tuscaloosa nearby the MB plant.

So GLE’s with the HUD are with customers now? I’m being told this is the cause of my delay....
Well, I've got mine, but I also got E-ABC and Flamed Black Ash trim which are scarce options. Lots of rumors (since they won't give us facts). For a while the Interior Assistant was being dropped from that package along with a $300 price reduction.

Well, the first car I ordered came in today, and someone snapped it up and took it home. Yikes.
This was minus a couple of items that you wanted right? Better to wait for the SUV with the options you want. These things are selling like hot cakes though.
Yes, and the two cars in second order were going to be without heat/cool seats. One is expected in next week and I'm sure someone will buy both of them immediately also. You're right, it's best to wait, but I would love to have seen it.....
