I suppose you're right, and that's a good tip on what to do if it doesn't start. My guess is I won't have the car before then anyway. I've seen no indication that it will arrive any time soon. I figure it will take 10 days in transit and since it's still stuck in B4 status, I suspect we're still a ways off from delivery.

Just a thought, as soon as I see progress on someones delivery I think about location. For those waiting it may be helpful to show a user location in your profile. I'm sure giving just the state or country (outside of the U.S.) would not be intrusive. Unless of course you are in some sort of protection program

According to this weeks Automotive News in the first six months of last year MB sold 22,741 GLE's and this year the number is 17,826. I expected a larger discrepancy. May 2020, 3,882 units June 2020, 4,833. What I am not sure of is if the number is sold as in contract written or if its delivered delivered. All numbers are U.S. figures.

Hi All - I placed the order for my GLE 450 in first week of April for August 1st decade build. The order is sitting in "B3" status since April 12th. My dealer however has never sent me a Netstar screen shot. He just calls me every few weeks to say no update. Whenever i ask for the screen shot he says that the system doesn't allow him to do that, he can't even do Alt-Prt Scrn and that MB doesn't want him to share the screen shot since it has the same info as he is telling me verbally and it creates more confusion.
For folks who have better luck getting detailed order status from their dealers, can you advise me what should i be telling him to exactly share with me? I want to get the history of all updates that have been made on the order. It is beyond me that for my car for which i will be paying dearly, i can't even see the order status.
Perhaps if there is a screen shot of what you receive from your dealers as status update, i can show him what i am looking for.

Thanks
Amit

My dealer said the same thing, so I asked the salesperson to take a picture with her phone and text it to me, which she did.

There are several different "pages" they can print for you (or take screen shots, even with a cell phone). Not sure of the technical names, but one shows configuration, and one shows order/production status. It's important to check your configuration to be sure you are getting what you think you are. Here are a couple of mine.

It's good to check your configuration until the order locks, because sometimes things get dropped due to availability and such.

Hard to say these days. If it does get produced at the end of August as indicated, it should be to you by the end of September or just after. Best of luck!

If they're running Windows, can't they use the snipping tool?

GLE450 Ordered 12/11 Build date Mar 3rd decade, Mar 1st decade, 4/27 now 5/3
It has been 7 months since we ordered our GLE 450 with E-ABC. During that time we have had no communication from Mercedes about our car. I came to the conclusion that they really don't care about me as a customer. Their action, or lack there of, is probably the greatest example of terrible customer service I have ever experienced. This morning we canceled our order and got our deposit back. As I left the dealership it was like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Good luck to all who are waiting on their 450. I just couldn't do it anymore.

rm50,

As you can see by this thread and unfortunately experienced, they don't care. Not one auto publication or news site has said one word about the issues. They make a great product and the attitude is you can have one when we want to make it. Don't ask any questions, wait and be loyal!

Will this have a lasting impact on sales? Obviously, they don't care. They have delivered just as many GLE's this year as last year. Hard to believe.

I was fortunate to be early in the order process 12/2018 and got mine in April. What disturbs me now is the lack of gratitude after the sale from my SA. We got the GLE450 and and E450 Cabriolet within a month of each other. I had a minor issue with the wiper blades and while they were replacing them I walked into the show room. My SA walked right past me as if I didn't exist. I then went to his cube and said hi. He looked up asked if we liked the cars and proceeded to pick up his phone to text. He has sold me 4 cars and will not sell me another.

I had a similar experience when I walked into the Bonita Springs dealer while I was at my Florida home last winter. The guy with all the "Bull Dog" trophies on his desk would not even talk price unless I was willing to sign that day. This is the same idiot that told me if I wanted the running boards removed from an in-stock car it would cost $3500.

I never got this treatment with Lexus.........

This is why dealerships shouldn't exist in the first place, they are basically useless and just adding to the cost for no good reason.
I like Tesla's no-frills direct approach - my wife bought a Model 3 from her iPhone, took about 3 minutes. Stress free.

I got the news from GM local dealer, my December 2018 order will not be in production till September, and we will be lucky if we see the the car end of the year.

So this will apply to most people already have VIN but no production date. Or stuck in B4.
Now is the time to ask what mercedes will do about your paint and interior sitting in the Alabama heat during summer. Discount or free ceramic coat when arrived.

Does anyone know what it means in NetStar when it says P.O. Updated? I assume it means purchase order updated, but I don’t have a sense as to whether that means production will begin to move forward soon, or if it means I’m screwed.

I ordered my vehicle on 1/23/19 with a production date of 5/5/19 and had the same problem. I purchased an on lot vehicle which my dealer obtained by swapping with another dealer. It should arrive by next week. My SA was great but not MB. MB communication is god awful! MB gave me no specific information about the delay other than to state it was a parts issue and no ETA. I strongly recommend you buy an off the lot vehicle as I did or consider an Audi or BMW, Good luck. Joe

On mine that happened a couple times but did not seem to coincide with any notable event.
