I figure it's probably too early to really know since the order is only a few weeks old. If there are any important key questions for us to ask along the way, would appreciate hearing what those are.
Not surprising but the new ETA is "mid-Nov". I'm skeptical of how much confidence to put into this. Reason given was "there's a delay for all 2020 350's".

My GLE 450 order was placed on June 7th in Shreveport, La for a loaded Diamond White with most packages except for E-ABC. The original build date was 1D August, second date I was given was 2D September, and then my SA said it was scheduled to be built on Sept 23rd. On Sept 9th I was told that mine had been built but was waiting on a part. On Sept 16th I was told that they had the part and it is in final production. If that is all true, my SA said I should receive it before the end of September.

After everything that I've read I'm pretty skeptical that it will be delivered by Sept. 30th. Do you think I can count on what my SA told me?

Not sure what to say, I have a 450 order from May and a 350 order from early July, plan to take whichever arrives first. The 450 was produced and has been sitting for six weeks “waiting for a part” and the 350 order went from second decade September to third decade October. Maybe the new suppliers are having issues too?

2020 GLE 450
Ordered in April, received VIN in late August and received word yesterday that it was shipped. Estimated transit time 3-4 weeks plus whatever time it takes for it to clear customs. Finally concrete info coming through. For those wondering my VIN is in the 103XXX range.

I have some good news to share. We ordered an almost fully loaded GLE450 in early April with 3rd row, Driver assistance package and the works (no E-ABC)
We were scheduled for 1D production in August, which moved to Aug 28th and then Sep 8th production date. Received VIN around end of August and on Sep 7th that car was already here at the dealer while netstar status until the night before showed in B4 status. We took delivery last weekend and are extremely happy with the new toy. Big thank you to everyone on this forum who made the wait much more bearable. Good luck to all of you still waiting, there is light at the end of the tunnel :-)

Congratulations! Your 450 order production date schedules are nearly identical to mine.
Ordered June 7th
Scheduled 1D August
Moved to 2D September
Sept 9th, built but waiting on a part
Sept 16th, part arrived and in final production
Delivery expected to Louisiana by end of September

My Diamond White 450 is almost fully loaded with 3rd row, Driver's assistance, Napa leather seats, etc. The only options I didn't take were the E-ABC, the tow package, spoiler or running boards. I'm hoping that the schedule information above provided by my SA will be true, and after reading a few posts this week about deliveries including yours I am getting excited that it might really happen!

Good luck Cindy, i hope you get the good news soon. Your build and mine are exactly the same, down to color choices and not having running boards and tow package :-)

I have the same (diamond white), but included E-ABC, towing package, and spoiler. Just no running boards.

Deposit in March, allocation in April, originally scheduled for 1D August but they had left off E-ABC. After correction, it moved to 2D August. Then gradually got delayed to September 17, 23, 25, 26, and now October 10.

Guess you guys are luckier than me, or maybe some combination of E-ABC/towing/spoiler are the culprits

Perhaps it truly is E-ABC causing the longer delays. I recall from an earlier post that E-ABC was causing delays.

This is where it would be helpful if MBUSA would simply acknowledge the issues they're having so consumers could tailor their orders to avoid whatever is causing the delays.

If it is any of the aforementioned parts, they aren't the only ones causing delays. I didn't order E-ABC on either of my vehicles and, after I had ordered the roof spoiler, my dealer told me it wasn't available and it had been dropped from the order. I don't get the sense that MBUSA is holding up orders for the spoiler.

I’m in the same boat as you. Early April order, fully loaded including eABC. Others ordered around the same as us and have had theirs come in, the only difference being the eABC. I’m getting jealous and slowly growing impatient.

I am actually seeing a few pretty complex & loaded 450 deliveries here being showcased that were placed later than my order.
I don't have E-ABC yet my build is not late October...no idea how MB is prioritizing those orders, there isn't really any trend I can identify.

The supply chain must still be a mess with several components still having shortages. E-ABC, or parts of it, must be one of the pieces where they had to change suppliers. It’s been 7 months since early E-ABC ordered cars were built and stored if my memory is correct.
The good thing about waiting is that a lot of the issues should be resolved. I’m getting my car back today after a week in the shop. I’m almost certain that there was a kinked AC drain line that caused many of my random electrical issues. Either that or a controller (computer) was defective. The downside of all the Tech is the higher chance of issues. The more basic loaner I was given seemed pretty solid. I keep telling myself to give any new model a year before buying but “get the fever” and order early.

2020 GLE 450 & 1 on order
I received a recall notice last week from Mercedes-Benz concerning AC drain line issues. I Purchased my GLE 450 July 19, 2019 from inventory.

Has anyone else received this notice?

My guess is that there are a number of options that the suppliers are having problems with. Some time back, there was a letter from MBUSA to the dealers regarding the delays and I believe that reference was made to "suppliers", plural (this letter is probably in this thread). I also recall hearing about the seat vendor causing some of the delays. Although you don't have E-ABC, you do have a pretty specialized seating package. It would be an interesting detective exercise to try to find the problem, but as mentioned above, I would be simple courtesy for MBUSA to just let us know exactly what the problems are.

Yes. Received mine last Wednesday - All options (including towing and e-abc) except 3rd row, MBUX interior assist and the high end 3D sound

Original order from fall last year which went into production early Jan and was scheduled for delivery end of March never showed up - no communication, late April I was advised to re-order.
The April re-order was scheduled to arrive end of this month (sept) but the dealership received one sooner that somehow was a match so I took it - amen to an almost 1 year wait.

Ordered 450 with E:ABC in Austin, TX June 18, 2019. Build decade given when ordering was first decade of September. The build date was then scheduled for third decade with date of September 22, then September 25, then September 26 and today was told October 10. All options except 3rd row, high end 3D sound, and running boards. We will see if the October 10 date holds. Dealer says 450 orders are coming in, but SA said we are the only order with E:ABC. Still unable to get the rear spoiler in original order or updated to include. Dealer says it is being redesigned and will be available "soon."

Lots of buyers who haven't ordered E-ABC are having delays, buyers who have ordered E-ABC may have the delays for other reasons not E-ABC.

Unhappy Still No Luck

Ordered my GLE450 back on May 25th, No E-ABC but is loaded with Night Package/Premium Package/Technology Package/Intelligent Package. Also MBUX Interior Assist, Running Boards, 21Inch AMG MultiSpoke Wheels.
When I was ordering the car, SA advised that is would take 3 months to get here.

SA informed me the end of June that production will start soon, then Advised end of August that Production is completed, and a delivery date was set for this week.
Called my SA today to make sure that we are all set for this week, and he informed me that it will be delayed and now the new delivery date is beginning of November.
I am based in Toronto Canada.
Had made custom orders from Benz before, Never had any issues in the past.
Not sure if it's worth waiting till November!
