Great cars but our last MB's, we bailed today. Best of luck to you all.

Just when I start feeling sorry for myself I read your update and can’t believe it! I keep waiting to read about a management shakeup. Not many companies lose a Billion+ without consequences and this all follows Diesel-gate. Good luck with the 53, you deserve something special, that would have been my choice except for the 2021 estimate originally given.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

Mine told me same story, I will believe it when I see it!

Old issues remain:
Key fob locking
Mirror fold locking resets to on.
Kick to open erratic
Android Auto inoperative with Console and Steering wheel touch screen. No Full Screen even though phone allows it.
New issues:
Mercedes “me” flaky. Easy commands no longer work, Activates for no reason or “M” command. Hard to close with verbal commands. Simple “Navigate to’ large City for example rarely works now.
Nav works better but still minor issues, inaccuracies. Worked perfect until September.
Settings return to factory default randomly-(mirror fold), now announcement volumn in Nav drop so can’t hear them with music.
Towing -now lane keep and lane change inoperative when LK turned off. The rest of Distronic OK. Will check on return trip to see if towing is a factor. Until dealer trip-when in Distronic LK worked to keep centered in the lane with LK turned off. Now it no longer changes lanes with the turn signal and even thoug LK shows active it does nothing. Keeps the distance and no longer accelerates full throttle like it did. The Recall for the Radar fix made big improvement to false reactions..seems to work great except on curves. Any curve with background buildings, trees or hills results in slowing or gentle braking. In heavy high speed traffic this could be dangerous.
BlueTooth- used to connect automatically when selected….now usually need to imitate with phone. Skipped from track 29 to track130 and then back to 30 after the last track (136) played. Starting to lose the music for a few seconds like a needle skipping on an old record player. This on Google Play music I own that is downloaded to my phone.
‘Trying to be brief so hope this makes sense.
Good:
Mercedes Nav worked very well in long stretches with no cell service, no noticeable difference from in Cell service. Even POI’s were live. The update to Radar made it much better..still needs polish.
Bad:
Won’t pull taller gears when Towing, shifts down to 6, 7 or 8 and economy numbers drop precipitously compared to our Audi. Mileage at 65mph about 25% better than at 75. Audi adds boost and pulls my same trailer in 8th gear (8 speed vs 9), rarely downshifts and gets a little better fuel economy...weighs about 500lbs less, Audi has a Boost Gauge so I can watch Boost being added as it pulls a hill. Comparable HP and Torque. Mercedes 362hp/369T + EQBoost. Audi 354hp/369T. I noticed the EQ Boost come on at higher speed when passing, maybe when the battery was fully charged...didn’t do it all the time. Our Audi is noticeably faster passing while towing and faster 0-60 but not as linear as the MB.

I'm curious how much time that it takes to orient yourself to the car and all of its programs?
This is may first MB and I'm very excited to finally take delivery although I'm a little worried after reading about so many issues.

The one I missed for the first few weeks is controlled by the left steering wheel home button and track pad. That’s also where you can scroll up to adjust the HUD menu and height. If I had to do it over again I would do a very basic walk through at delivery leaving out most MBUX functions. Then take the car for a few days and get familiar with it. Write down a list of questions and then return to the SA for more in depth tutoring. With no prior Mercedes experience it’s too much to go over in one quick setting. Some things are similar to other German cars & others unique to M. Going through the Manual was painful for me, I don’t like to read instructions.
if there are any of the surprise glitches take a picture or video if you can. It seems like they fix or update software only to create a new issue. With the complexity and numerous subcontractors of the Tech there seem to be ongoing bugs.
Since I haven't test driven the 450 yet, only a 350, I'm looking forward to its arrival at least as a preview of what is to come.
Interestingly, one of the screenshots she sent me showed three other vehicles were canceled by their prospective buyers, accompanied by notes such as "Norm gave up on us." I imagine that's pretty common these days.

I’m glad we held on, because it’s a terrific vehicle. We traded our 2016 300d on the new one. It’s Mojave Silver, which we like better than the white 2016. It’s a bit faster than the diesel, as well!
