Same thing - service appointment prompt at 8k miles is odd, especially consider its recommended at 10k and most of the mileage the car does is highway (assuming the service assessment is intelligent?)

Anyway, when I went in to have the MBUX updated and my seat fixed they reset the warning. They also pushed me to do the service now - which i felt was way too early. I'm holding off until 10k.

Sounds like it's Condition Based to some degree. What does it indicate when you look at the date or mileage due?

Car failed to start twice this morning with several random error messages

Car failed to start twice (before morning commute) - several error messages displayed.
Started on the third attempt / everything appeared normal afterwards.

Vehicle had the 'AC hose' recall addressed (about 4 weeks ago)

I've read that others have seen this - first time for me - is this what you guys saw?

Pretty much what happened to us, but I couldn't get it to restart without disconnecting the battery. Did you just turn it off and use the start button again? After software updates ours (4/19 production) has been okay for almost 2 months.

Just on and off repeatedly w/ the start button.
Greg - would you happen to have a link to post describing how to disconnect/reconnect the battery? Would appreciate it if you could repost it here - I'm often in places where roadside assistance would be difficult - thanks.

It's pretty simple:

1) The battery is under the floor beneath the driver's seat. To access raise the driver's seat all the way up and forward.
2) From the second row door, remove the plastic cover on the floor under the driver's seat.
3) Using a 10mm wrench (combination works fine; I carry one in the glove box), remove the negative terminal.
4) After a few seconds, reattach the terminal, replace cover and lower the seat.

This should reboot the system and allow starting. My wife was even able to do this the second time it happened.

Thanks Greg! I remember reading about the need for a 10mm wrench but couldn't find the post - much appreciated.

Go to your center display and look under maintenance and see how many miles until your "A" maintenance is due. I think the manual says 12 months at the latest but driving style may make it sooner.

Just yesterday Mercedes Me told me that my service was overdue.. at six months old and 4,300 miles. Car said Service A but no duration in the dash display.

Came back this morning, and all normal. 173 days until Service A, and no more overdue warning, car happy.

Summary: I think Mercedes Me had a brain fart yesterday. And surprisingly, the display in the car appears to get the remaining time before service from Mercedes Me / online rather than any kind of internal clock ....

Honestly I am tiring of beta testing this vehicle. Multiple recalls since launch, and 16 distinct faults on my April 2019 GLE with commonly needed parts constantly on back order, and fights with the dealership to fix or do updates. The best or nothing? Seems that MB have decided mediocre is fine, and poor customer relations is ok too.

My 2012 204 C63 was faultless. My 2016 GLC had minor crabbing, my 2015 205 C63 had a recall and dodgy LEDs, but my 2019 167 GLE has been a catalogue or poor build quality and poor quality control. Come on Mercedes... you're better than this.

Sorry for the rant. Just reaching the end of my tether on this vehicle.

Good suggestions but I don’t think it’s conditioned on anything more than 12 months or 10,000 miles. Mine shows next service due in 1822 miles & I have had the car a little over 6 months. My oil level is still high and no other warning for low fluids. Customer Care has obviously had other complaints....he was quick to apologize-he knew exactly what I was talking about & that there is no reset except at the dealer. He also said that making an appointment would not clear the message.

Okay, I'm embarrassed. I am a de facto expert on this forum, but I don't get much actual seat time since this is my wife's DD. Looking for "Service," I cannot find it. My MBUX home setting categories are Navigation, Settings, Phone, Radio, Media, MercedesMe & Apps, Comfort & Info. I thought Settings or Info might have it, but no. When I use "Search" it only seems to search Navigation. The manual is less than helpful; most would have a full tree of the topics within MBUX. Help!

Thanks, Ron. I was confusing Computer with MBUX, On my BMW Service is within the iDrive system. So mine is showing 10,253 total miles until first service, which is about 10 months at current rate, but may end up more like a year. That seems really low; most cars these days are like 15k. Maybe to generate dealer service $??

Creeks and Rattles

I have about 1200 miles on my GLE 450 and am very disappointed with the amount of rattles. Some from the doors, the back (somewhere) and under the front dash. Dealer said to bring it back at the first service and they may have some service bulletins that would help them pinpoint the areas of concern. The 2015 GLK I traded in was very, very quiet. The new GLE sounds like an old truck. Anyone else having issues with rattles?

Keep hearing consulting with the engineers in Germany. The have changed the 48V battery, changed the coolant, DCU, and still no fix. I purchased the car in September and been back twice, one for recall, and the current issue. Slowly getting the feeling I purchase a lemon. I don't think they have a clue on a fix!!!!!!
November update: Mercedes agreed to buy back still no fix as to cause or possible fix. Looking forward to getting a list of the maintenance done. Hope everyone have better luck, and hope a fix is found. As for me, I did not want a brand new car that has been used as a test bed.

I've read that others have seen this - first time for me - is this what you guys saw?

Unfortunately we are having the same issues as you are. In the last few days, our vehicle headlights have started randomly turning back on after the car and headlights have turned off. I tried locking and unlocking the car with the fob, but the same thing happened again. We ended up turning the car on and back off and then locking the doors and it stopped for the moment.

Occasionally when the vehicle is started we get those same error messages, and sometimes the check engine light comes on as well. It seems to happen most often when the vehicle is started with the app (or attempted to start, but the app gives errors), but that could be a coincidence? Not to mention, it would have been nice for the Mercedes Me app to actually start my car these last few days of negative temps, but I guess I'm just not that lucky! We called the dealership and MB and they both said they have not heard of this issue before and that we could drive it back to the dealer for them to look at, but they aren't sure what the issue is. Only problem is that the dealership is in Minneapolis (529 miles one way), and I don't want to drive there just for them to say they don't know or that nothing is wrong.

I assume you could go to the dealer in Fargo or Billings? Still not close or convenient, but a little closer.
