Was installation DIY? Especially since you need to change the entire accelerator.

No, dealer did it - I'd asked if it was s DIY install when ordering and was advised that it would be better if they did the work.

Drove in fairly heavy snow for the first time yesterday. Had a little sliding, but then I popped it into offroad mode and no more traction problems. Only issue was that the snow kept sticking to the car and covering the sensors, making the car beep incessantly at stops and slow speeds because it thought I was nearing an object. I assume there's a way to shut this off, but I haven't checked the manual yet. Probably should have just asked Mercedes to do it.

How much did they charge for the installation? I might just go ahead get those. They look sharper with the beige interior than I expected. The stock pedals are the only thing in the car that I saw and thought, "Huh, those look a little cheap."

Now, if only I could get the AMG wheel, too!

The first snowfall here covered the car in about five inches of snow. As soon as I turned on the car, the dash lit up like a Christmas tree and was beeping non stop. Once you moved more than ten mph, I think the parking sensors stop beeping, but once you slow down, it goes nuts 😂

Sorry don't remember - probably the standard labour charge - work was done when it was in for something else (can't remember what...)

Yep. My kids went nuts every time it starting beeping like crazy as we approached a stop light. It happened on our Lexus, too, but there's a physical button to shut off the proximity sensors (convenient for when pulling up to a drive through). No such button on the GLE, but I'm assuming there's a way to do it. Just haven't had a chance to thumb through the book to look for it.

Have you tried deactivating the system using your MBUX Settings>Quick Access. Without going to my vehicle and looking, it is either the item "M" or PARKTRONIC. I have to deactivate this anytime I go through drive in window at a bank also.

Can do it by using quick access button on centre consule without going into mbux.

In preparation for my upcoming 10,000 mile service I dropped off a list of issues to the dealer. The two that most trouble me are the Key Fob fail to lock. Recently my M Assistant went from unreliable to no longer working verbalized. The steering wheel still activates it.
The Service Manager just emailed me to tell me that both are known issues with a fix pending soon. They targeted end of third quarter so only 3 months behind now. If you have the Fob or Assistant problem maybe there will be a fix soon. I should have an update soon.

Snow and ice this morning gave me another chance to test it and it's as simple as pressing the "P" icon on the touchscreen, at the top left of the overhead camera view, when it begins beeping.

Profiles

Question for the group regarding profile setup. Took delivery of a 450 not too long ago. So so everything is awesome, still working my way in learning the technology.

Regarding profiles, questions:

1) I have multiple profiles. Upon entry, it’ll show the welcome screen with user profiles to select, however it seems to automatically default to main driver after a couple of seconds of showing the Welcome screen and screen disappears. This happens when you start the engine. Is the profile key dependent, so meaning it knows that the key fob is on me and will default to main? I was under the impression you can select the profile upon welcome screen. Cant really select a profile as within seconds the screen will disappear as it’ll default to Main. I’ll have to go activate the other profile via the other way by going back to profile. If I just enter, the welcome screen will be displayed to select profile, which doesn’t go away, until you start the engine which will default to main

2) How do you customize other user profiles via Mercedes Me? One of the profile is already linked as Main User. There is a Guest account and I have another profile but the third profile can not be customized online. Does it have to be linked if so, how since it only appears one profile can be linked to the main profile (eg adding profile picture on other profiles) Does that make sense? I am only able to Customize the Main User profile for some reason. All the other profiles only have the option to link/unlink but I can’t link or anything since it’s greyed out. Do the other users have to be registered as Co user?

Some minor annoyance:
1) keyfob and locking issue which people have reported

2) windshield wipers skipping at low speeds

thanks!!!

I only have one user profile so don’t have an answer. I have switched Key Fobs with no noticeable difference but then with no other profile there probably wouldn’t be anyway.
I still get a little skipping at low speed when moisture is light. It’s that condition when it’s stopped raining and the wiper might make a single sweep. Chatter was severe until I used steel wool and degreaser to remove a gluelike residue from my windshield, present at purchase. Then I cleaned the wiper blades with WD40. As I recall new blades are replaced at each 10,000 service (unusual) and maybe a tip that the rubber is different, maybe softer.

Each profile needs to be linked to a MercedesMe account, I believe. So, for example, to have one for your spouse he/she needs their own account.

Does anyone have a problem with automatic braking engaging very suddenly when backing out or backing in?
I had it engage on me already at least 5 times when nothing was present behind the vehicle.
The worst part is that there isn't any kind of warning, the beep happens after it is already engaged.

By any chance were you on a slope? I've never had the braking engage but I have had the rear sensors alarm when backing out of a sloped driveway.

Probably a malfunction, mine has never done it even on a slope. In fact it hasn’t ever engaged prematurely. Snow or dirt on the sensors might contribute to a false reading?
Our Audi will auto brake if I back into the garage too fast and sometimes gives off an alarm even at lower speeds.
If this is a recent change....you might disconnect the battery ground for a few minutes to eliminate the possibility of software gremlins. MBUX FU3 is rumored to be near release according to my Service Manager. Each update seems to reduce the number of issues.

Only when there was rear cross-traffic. It is very sudden and alarming.

Clean sensors all around, does it often when there is a curb if I am doing faster parallel parking and did it in the garage today even though I did the same maneuver as usual.

Having issues with my iPhone. When connected via Bluetooth, I cannot get the phone to ring through the car speakers. It only rings on the phone. I thought the issue was the Call Audio Routing setting on the iPhone which you can set to Automatic or Bluetooth Headset. When I set it to Bluetooth Headset, I can sometimes get the phone to ring through the car speakers, but most times it just rings on the phone.

If connected through the USB connector, it always rings through the car speakers.

Was wondering if anyone else is having the same issue?

(I had mentioned this in a separate thread...so apologies for a duplicate post...but the subject of the thread didn't really apply to the actual issue and I can't seem to be able to change the subject line or delete that thread).
