Local MB dealer just responded to my inquiry about manual maps update on 2020 GLE SUV:
"There are no manual/on demand map updates that can be requested by the customer."
My vehicle was flashed with latest MBUX software just a week or so ago.

I got this update from dealership which was very definitive on "There are no manual/on demand map updates that can be requested by the customer." both in his email and in person:
"The article only refers to vehicles with Multimedia Command System but not MBUX"
The specialist also said that the PDF was dated 2018 and mine is a 2020 GLE SUV.

 

Well, it's true you cannot request that of the dealer, but you can do it yourself online & with removable media per the thread I previously posted and this one: https://mbworld.org/forums/gle-class...avigation.html. I'm doing mine right now.

I will skip trying for the time being since it was done wholesale by the dealership just very recently.

 

Just finished downloading - will load on car this evening.
If you do go into the online update site it will show you what areas there are updates for. Really no reason to do whole of North America and Puerto Rico unless you travel a lot.

 

Don't be too sure, my car is only 5 weeks old and there was updates for all of europe, if you go in the online portal it tells you if updates are available and for where. As Greg says only select the ones you need, I selected all the countries in Europe and it took over 2 hours to put on memory stick.

 

I don't know if this will get fixed in an update, but my navigation pretty consistently gives me an eta of almost 30-50% greater than Waze's or Google Maps' eta. (2 1/2 hour drive time reads as 3 1/2 hour on MBUX Nav). It navigates me in the same route as Waze or Google maps, minus maybe a traffic avoidance route, and eventually the ETA comes down to read the original ETA of Waze by the end of the trip. Any one else experiencing this? Also, it sometimes (rarely) has me get off of the highway to take the service road for one exit for no apparent reason.

 

I have not notice that on mine but the MBUX Nav does take different routes then my apple/google maps. I am not sure but i think the MBUX Map will learn the routes you frequently use as time goes on and get better (i could be mistaken). I am still in my evaluation of the MBUX NAVI.
