I've noticed people mentioning the different tyres they're getting on their GLEs. As someone who doesn't know a lot about the differences in brands, I'm curious which ones people are receiving, and whether they're happy with the ones they've gotten. I'm still waiting to take delivery, so I'm wondering if there's a particular tyre I should make sure my car is wearing when it arrives.

Would imagine that you get what the factory fit, mine are pirelli p zero on 22 inch wheels..

There are different tires depending on the wheel size, and probably a couple manufacturer's for each size. You also get Extended Mobility tires (run flats) on some if you get the 3rd row option. All have been specified and tested by Mercedes and usually carry an "MO" mark on the sidewall. They are All Seasons, except the 22s (which you can't get except on the 580) are Summers. I wouldn't sweat it and you really have not control over it.
Mine w 20” wheels came with Perelli’s. Only 1200 miles so far so don’t know anything - but they ride great so far. I’ve always used Michelin so curious to see how these work out.
I just noticed Pirelli has a version of this tire with their noise cancelling system, PNCS, which is supposed to reduce tire noise by 25%. It uses a band of foam around the inside of the tire to absorb vibrations. Costs 21% ($62) more per tire in this particular size on The Tire Rack. Cool technology, though.

We have been doing some testing this past week with GLE's on Tire Pressure - and frankly on those where filler flap recommends 32lb - any thing over 32lbs makes the GLE "harsh" fast.. we do this kindof fun testing so that if there is a sweet spot a a couple or a few lbs higher it extends their tread life.
But those recommended 32 - when set to 34 - because shake-n-bake fast... harsh..

I saw a GLE 450 on the lot with the standard wheels and Cooper Tires...YUCK.
Yeah, looks like a totally different car, and not in a good way. As I posted in another thread, MB could have used the next size up tire on the 19s to better match the OD of the others; their choice is puzzling.

Great innovative idea....tire noise is about all that’s left now. The car is so quiet now it’s irritating to hear the seal coated road noise.
