Active Lane Keeping / Active Blind Spot / Active Brake Assist INPOERATIVE

Hello to everyone,

I am new to this forum.
Recently I have bought a new GLE 350d from Belgium because the official MB dealer couldn't offer it here until now.

I am experiencing issues with:
  • Active Lane Keeping Assist inoperative
  • Active Blind Spot Assist inoperative
  • Active Brake Assist Functions limited
  • ABS and ESP inoperative
These errors appear suddenly and all of them at the same time. Turning off and on the engine immediately doesn't change anything. They are going away only when the car has been of for a while.

I went to the MB dealer, they checked it and they couldn't find any errors with the scan tool. None of the sensors is defective.

Anyone has idea what is going on? Could it be a bug in the software?

I don't know... maybe because you drive too fast... 137 km/h vs 80 km/h, 101 km/h vs 70 km/h, 104 km/h vs 70 km/h...

Did you try to drive slower?

Yes I did.
It happens while driving in the city too, high and low speed.
Once it happened waiting at the traffic light.

I recall seeing a note about some GLE's with improper AC drainage, check and see if your car could be having that issue.

It does not have this issue but it drains the windshield washer fluid in 1 day completely. The MB dealer said it does not leak anywhere. I suspect in their service experience with these new GLE model. They have just started selling them.

Completely draining in a day huh? Not sure where the pipes run but maybe look into this?

Yes, a weird thing, but it is not as bad as the messages saying the assists are inoperative.

Meanwhile, I have sent an email to the customers support and see what they will say.

It seems like the proper procedure would be for the Dealer get with Mercedes Tech Support to troubleshoot. Maybe a video to go with your photo’s would help them.

Yes, but It is hard to make them call Mercedes Tech Support. They rely only on their scan tool, if it founds no errors (like this case) then they don't bother to inspect it further.
This car is very expensive here. They have to be more serious.

I had a very similar problem on my 2014 ML350 when I first got it. First couple of times it happened when it was raining or foggy. But then it happened when it was a sunny clear day. The dealer did some testing and had to replace a multi function switch is all I remember. I do remember that they had to remove all the seats and carpet to get to it and had to order the part from Germany.

Sorry but I didn't get any paperwork on it and happened back in 2014 when I first got the car. It still would happen once in a while driving in the rain for about 5 minutes.

Haven’t compared to mine while driving, but your rpm’s look low to me compared to your speeds also. Looks computer glitchy to me. But I’m certainly not any expert.

Have you tried taking it to the dealer in Belgium where you bought it?

I would expect an issue with one of the radar modules. I’ve experienced this issue with both a W205 c class and a w213 e class which use in essence the same system. The good news is that plugging the car into the dealer system should enable them easily to see which is faulty.

The dealer called me today and said they received an e-mail from Mercedes Germany that I have complained there about the issues and told them to solve this.
Dealer told me to drop the car whenever I want (not when they have free time) so I plan to go in Tuesday and leave them the car to inspect it thoroughly. So, will see what they will do this time.

Thanks. Will see what they will find this time. Previous time they were unable to find any error codes with the radars.

Finally got the car fixed today. The problem was faulty speed sensor located at the front right wheel.

Did you discuss 2 distinct problems in this thread?

Hi,
Just to clarify if you had 2 distinct issues in this thread: a) leaking washer fluid and b) the issue of multiple messages indicating many features were out of service?
Most importantly did "the issue of multiple messages indicating many features were out of service" was satisfactorily fixed by replacing a faulty speed sensor located at the front right wheel?
Our GLE350W4 just got this multiple messages issue last week while it was on local roads with speed no more than 30 mph. I recall it also took place roughly a month ago while it was on highway speed of 75 mph.
Thank you.

Yes, all of the error messages that were appearing, they didn't after changing the sensor.
