Test Drove GLE350
Took a test drive of the GLE350. My GLC300 lease is up in Oct 2020 and with Mercedes 90-day loyalty program, I could lease a new vehicle as soon as July. But just wanted to get the feel of GLE to decide whether I wanted the extra size-- and expense-- in the next vehicle.
I was very favorably impressed. While a considerably larger vehicle than the GLC (some 12 inches longer) it really didn't feel massive to me. Wife found seats more comfortable than the GLC. And the new dash and MBUX is a major selling point. The GLC will possibly get MBUX for 2021, it most likely will retain the same instrumentation. So I'll keep all of those things in mind when ordering for the 2021 begins.
Last I heard, residual on a 2020 GLE350 for a 36/10 lease is 58% but there is only $500 fleet discount for USAA members.
I only wish that the Alabama plant had the same delivery program as BMW in South Carolina but one BMW was enough for me.

That interior design falls into the same trap a lot of luxury automakers have fallen into lately. It looks like they designed a beautiful interior and dash, and then stuck an LED screen on top of it. Ugh. The way they integrated the displays into the dashboard so beautifully was one of the major attractions of the 2020 GLE for me. Range Rover Evoque and Audi Q8 also did a wonderful job integrating their displays.
