I saw something about a year ago describing the Serial number codes but don’t know where. Your Insurance agent might have some basics from the serial number but I think only Benz will have the complete list. The seller might have kept the window Monroney Sticker if you have contact info for them.

Look... nothing is working now. For example, I ordered an expensive computer monitor on Amazon for still photography and video production. Could use it for a project I'm working on since my monitor died abruptly. Scheduled delivery with signature required 12/29. AMazon shows out for delivery by 10pm but wanted closer estimate. Amazon support (off-shore but trying to avoid stereotyping) says it will actually deliver tomorrow. But it could be lost so I can file a claim on Jan 1. I understand Amazon's logistical log-jam and I understand MB's logistical log jam. However, this is coming from someone who received his car. But now to add even further insult, current issue of Consumer Reports (not always my favorite publication) rated dependability of 2020 GLE as 2 out of 100, the very lowest rating in its class. Even the *#?!& Buick scored well.

 

I don't mind waiting but I made a big mistake on this one. I sold my wife's RR a few months ago and she has been driving my mothers car. My mother would like her car back and my wife would like her new ride. I have a E63S ordered and will not unload my car until that car is in my hands. Hopefully the vaccine works and things get back to normal for everyone.

 

For the right car and right price, yes. MB and the dealership doesn’t seem to care if I do.

 

Dealership could sell your car in an instant, possibly even for more than your deal. But finding another vehicle may be elusive. Lousy times.

 

Exactly. And the last three phone calls have been ignored. I did get one text and one email awhile back. The salesperson and I have been great friends too after purchasing about 7 cars from them.
I guess I’m doing them a favor.

 

Sorry to here they don't answer your calls. My SA has been very responsive and this is my first go around with Mercedes. Sounds like your salesperson doesn't feel the same way.

 

@ENCT Are you still on schedule to receive your 580 around the 1st?

 

I am waiting for Fedex now, and hopefully see the car by the end of this week. Have the VIN and the app on my phone, just no GLE yet. Tracking doesn't work yet either. Hope your gets sorted out soon.

 

My dealer shows a 580 on web inventory, but my guess is that it is a special order.

When do they usually pop up on a dealership's website? When it arrives or when its actually in transit to the dealership?

 

When the car is invoiced to the dealer, the third party systems that manage their websites post the vehicle. If you take a look at a build sheet from a dealer who uses the "autopacket" service, that build sheet somewhere in the lower right side of a page will list a date. That is the invoice date which generally is right around shipping date.

 

Ah ok. My order has been built but not shipped yet, it doesn't show up on their website yet so I guess it has not been invoiced yet.

 

Mine did not pop up.

 

Well I got finally got a phone call. I am being told it should be here by Jan 22 at the latest. So the way shipping has been going that means it should have been built back in August. Fingers crossed.

Meanwhile the Audi dealer (SQ7) has sent me Christmas cards, sent me numerous different builds they have or can trade for, and even had the dealership owner texting me to see if he could help. I also found out later that his daughter and mine are in the same class at school. Small world.

Still looking forward to seeing others’ 580s.

Dealer told me they invoice theirs when they hit shipping. Then about 20 days normally to deliver since the train doesn’t make a direct connection. Mine has been 22 days now.... Then you are at the mercy of trucking since they get more cars on the train than can be delivered quickly. My car was supposed to come direct from Bama by truck but something went awry 🤭 and it ended up on a train. Now it’s been sitting in Salt Lake waiting on a truck that was supposed to deliver it yesterday. I’m guessing not all the drivers wanted to work through the Holidays. Everyone is getting frustrated, especially me.
The Dealer told me they had one invoiced and the next day it was undone with a notice that it was returned to the Factory. Probably about the time that the Battery issue showed up.
The way things are going BACnMercedes, you will have your 580 first.😢

 

I wish the budget allowed for a 580, but my 350 will have to suffice for now. I was originally told it would be at the dealership by the 15th, then that turned into the 26th, and I was just told yesterday that it would arrive on 1/7.

Anyone have luck chopping down the price at all due to the shipping delays?

 

Great news, hopefully they stick to the schedule. Mine is still floating around somewhere, hope it comes in soon.

Still waiting to have someone put it on a truck and drive 10 hours north to drop it off. Built for a month now, have no clue when it will show up. Dealer is now calling the trucking company to find out what's going on. They have 7 cars ready to roll. Hopefully any day now.
