After mine was pushed back a month it did build about 8 days early.
Is that a dealership? I’m not familiar with Fabbrisd1 other than comments on threads here. I doubt my dealership will swap the car with another anyway. Plus the one thing I will give them is that when our E got to the “port”, they made some phone calls and got it delivered almost instantly (very shortly). It even showed up on a car hauler with other cars besides MBs. So if it gets to the distribution center, I do have faith they can get it here quickly.

Pretty sure he’s in sales at a Mercedes Dealership in Tuscaloosa. Most manufacturers allow drop shipping to another dealer...not sure Mercedes does. The way it might work is that your Dealer A has it delivered to Dealer B where they do the Prep and you pickup the vehicle there. Dealer B charges for the Prep. If shipping delay isn’t an issue then it’s not worth pursuing. This is so seldom done anymore it might not be an option today.

78,900 is the base price I just got from my dealer. I have one on order. Supposed to be built soon.

Yeap. $78,900 is base and I’m still waiting on my $95,425 580. I betting it will not be here in Jan. like I’ve been promised again either. I’ve been told all those parking lots of cars we’ve seen missing parts are going back on the assembly line to get finished and therefore things are getting pushed back. Oh, and the plant has to have Christmas break too.

Did you dealer give you as build date? Mine is scheduled for 12-2, hopefully see it mid December.

@ENCT I was told the first week of Jan. and then 3-5 days delivery. I almost blew coffee out my nose laughing when I was told about delivery.

Builds must be similar. - our MSRP is $95,355. Was supposed to be built later this week, but who knows!

You can take that delivery time as fact...the catch is when they start counting. 😏 Mine has been built for over 2 weeks and supposedly is finally set for shipping with no estimated eta yet. Mercedes logistics may leave room for improvement.

So I’m really getting tired of waiting, plus I have a great deal from a friend on a truck if I want it plus my daughter likes the room in it better and......my wife says she is through with this dealership and I might have a RR with a bow on it show up Christmas morning, and I’ve been looking at 2020 580s online. But what is the deal with so many not having either the lighting package or the awesome distronic. Do that many people not care for these options on this high level of a vehicle or they just don’t know what they are missing?
(I guess some could argue that about other options with me)
Just thinking out loud.

They are spec’d by the Dealer so lack of some options is probably to hold down the price. I’m going to check on mine later today. After thinking about it the delay on mine was probably the Red/Black seats that are reportedly on constraint now.
I’ve been in the same mood after almost 6 months but want what I want and not going to settle for 2nd choice. You deserve to be frustrated after almost 8 months and counting....

I hear you, mine is supposed to be built this Wednesday. I have my fingers crossed. RR meaning Range Rover, have fun with those. We got rid of two 2020's RR Sports for the GLE. Son had a Velar bought back, talk about electronic gremlins. Hope yours get built quick.

I agree that they are spec’d by the dealer but some of the way they spec them is crazy. For example I found a black one a few months ago that had a lot of things; soft close doors, lighting, pano, ACP, and even the upgrade radio but no distronic. It was a 95k plus build if I remember correctly but to leave off distronic in that price range. Then later I found some 90k plus 450 build. Some builds just don’t make sense.......at least to me.
Maybe that’s why I’m not in charge of building them.

Still venting.......

I probably have a build close to 97,000 and did not spec distronic. I am new to Mercedes and knew nothing about it until I ordered my 2021 E63S. If I had a redo I would have added it. It's my wife's ride and she only drives about 12 miles to work so hopefully its not a big deal.

When I placed the order for my 53 in December 2019 the dealer told me the oficial delivery time from Mercedes is 12 months (maybe this is only here in Romania and some other countries), but it usually arrives in 8-9 months. Due to COVID-19 it arrived after 11 months.

My 580's build date was scheduled yesterday, too. But when I phoned up SA just to confirm, he informed me it's been delayed 6 weeks to mid-January. I'd hoped it would be here before Christmas so we could enjoy it over the holidays, but we can stand to wait a bit longer.

Great news! Congratulations.
On a good note: When driving my child to school this morning, I-85 North was a parking lot (I’m going south at 65mph so sorry, no pictures) and I saw two trucks back to back stuck in traffic loaded with all GLEs. It appeared that one back one had the larger 22” wheels so hopefully someone is getting a 580 or nice 450 soon. But not many appeared to have the AMG exterior package though.
Finger crossed that the plant is full steam ahead.........

Does the MBDeal discount of 12.25% for family & friends apply to the base MSRP of the car or on the MSRP after all the packages have been added?

@edealraj that 12% discount is supposedly what the member was able to negotiate for him or herself. You have to negotiate that price for yourself. But all prices are based on what the total price, including all add on’s or packages, is of the vehicle. The only discount that is standard is any type of clubs (example: Mercedes clubs, Costco, businesses that are part of the fleet program) that you might be a part of. Usually these are anywhere from $500-2500 depending on the Mercedes vehicle. Did that help?
Good luck.

I never understood why if you have a client that wants to give you money for a product, why in hell they can not delivery that product or at least communicate what is going on. That is also part of my frustration. Lack of too no communication or reason as to why.
I was in the same boat as you. Ordered my almost every option fully loaded 580 in the second week of January. The only option I didn't take was the unneeded 3rd row and the rear heated seats (didn't like the look of the switch with half of it a blank, no reason they couldn't use a single switch on such an expensive suv) I was originally told mid March to late April delivery at the latest. That came and went (pandemic) and in the first day or so of May my SA called and said that my 580 was finally scheduled to be built but it would be pushed to a 2021 and be in the first batch to roll off the line when the 21's start up. My 580 effectively went 2020 to a 2021 back to a 2020. This is because of the interior. Upon hearing this I did a little research into model year changes and learned of the change from beige/gray to beige/black for 2021. I told my SA that I would not accept it as a 2021 if it came beige/black opposed to beige/gray and would have no choice but to cancel my factory order. The dealer management made some calls and pulled some strings to get it changed back and built as a 2020 for that reason and I got the interior I ordered and expected as well as the 580 a lot sooner. Which made my elated to be honest cause I was over the 9 month wait. Took delivery 2 months ago

My 580 was built last week. On Friday my SA told me the 580's are not EPA certified yet and they expect that to happen Monday. After that mine will be on a truck to the dealer. Hopefully I can get it in the next week to ten days.

Good news. Guess the gov't had to certify Pfizer vaccine first and then certify the 580's before getting busy with Moderna

So they are different from the 2020s?
