I ordered first in March, then a second order in June. Still haven't taken delivery of either and it seems December is the absolute earliest I may receive one. I expected to take delivery April 11. The dealership has done a good job of making me think I'm going to get a car soon for long enough that now I just feel like I would have wasted six months if I go elsewhere. Don't fall into the same trap.
A buddy of mine just had his 2009 Audi Q7 fail. He agreed to buy a 2020 BMW X7 last Saturday and is expecting to take delivery Wednesday. That's how it's done. If you want a car in a reasonable timeframe, either buy a GLE that is on a lot somewhere, or purchase a different vehicle. Ordering a GLE and hoping to get it in less than six months seems like folly at this point.

I don't know if I'll take delivery though. I had emailed my Sales guy to update the build to a different color months back, but I guess he forgot, and left Mercedes. I had emailed him for follow-up a few times but no response (figured he had left) and recently called Mercedes to see what's going on. They confirmed he had left Mercedes and someone else was handling my order. I had asked what color was on the build and he said Selenite Grey, which I am fine with, but I had wanted Polar White and wanted Polar White. So, I am not sure yet if I'll take delivery, or just pass on it.
I have been eyeing the GLE 43 Coupe AMG though but it's a long wait since they are not releasing a 2020 GLE Coupe but rather, a 2021 model to be available in mid-2020 (I'm assuming).

It's crazy. I placed my first order 10 days later in Newport, R.I., and still haven't taken delivery (and I won't take delivery of that first order).

Differences in options could be the cause for yours being delayed. I’ve also seen others order theirs much later than me and get theirs sooner. Sigh. It’ll be worth it right?

Yesterday was told the vehicle is in dock waiting for customs, but since this is a new vehicle and it is the first batch being delivered, might be a lengthier customs process than usual since they have to enter new vehicle into system. It comes down to how many GLE's with the Key Features your ordered were shipped in September into your Mercedes Region - as compared to the # on back order for your Regions.
I ran those #'s for a Member here in August - and the Aug ship count for his Region was 4 - and his Region Backlog count end August was 36 - Sept ship count for that Region was 5 - so that's 31 left to go - so you tell me if you think you're "lucky" or not.
Sales Advisor's and most Sales Manager's won't take the time to work the #'s and tell you the truth.
If you get your's this year - great - if you don't then don't be surprised.,

Is there any way to tell where on the list we are? I was originally quoted an August delivery which is now pushed back till November. I'm one of those "unlucky" ones.
There isn't "a list" - but there is data to kindof calculate the "odd's" - Sales Advisers and most Sales Manager's don't want to put the effort into the "odd's" because from their side "it will happen when it happens - we have more MB's to sell".
Ordered December 22 for early April delivery. Sept1 it went to VPC. I can not get an estimated delivery date..

We placed a 450 order (end of September) and were told it would be delivered in Dec or Jan. Everything was signed but two weeks later we got a call from the dealer, saying that they were out of allocation. They now say the allocation will be in Dec and we can expect the car in March or April. Tell the truth, I have very little faith in MB's scheduling at this point. I have no idea when the car will actually arrive. I mean 6-8 months for an Aston Martin is one thing, but for a mass-produced SUV from Alabama? We told the dealer to keep us on the allocation list. Meanwhile, we are looking for something else. Maybe if I could get a firm delivery date, but no. It's an estimate.

This is MBUSA's latest (10/1) sales statement:
"Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today reported September sales of 27,433 Mercedes-Benz models, a 4.8% increase over September 2018. Additionally, Mercedes-Benz Vans recorded September sales of 4,569, bringing MBUSA to a grand total of 32,002 vehicles for the month, an increase of 4.5%. On a year-to-date basis, MBUSA recorded sales of 224,212 Mercedes- Benz passenger vehicles and 28,845 Vans. This brings MBUSA's year-to-date sales to 253,057 units, on par with last year's volume.
"We saw great momentum in dealer showrooms last month thanks to additional availability of key models combined with the arrival of new models, especially the GLC SUV," said Nicholas Speeks, president and CEO of MBUSA. Mercedes-Benz volume leaders in September included the GLC, GLE, and C-Class model lines. The GLC led totals with 6,840 vehicles followed by GLE with sales of 4,862. The C-Class rounded out the top three with 4,073 units.
September sales of Mercedes-AMG high-performance models totaled 2,012 units (+46.0%) with 24,968 vehicles sold year-to-date (+20.4%).
Separately, Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned (MBCPO) models recorded sales of 10,191 vehicles in September, a decrease of 0.8% versus last year. On a year-to-date basis, MBCPO sold 97,668 vehicles, an increase of 2.2% from the previous year."
As of today 10/11/19 status it’s still B4....getting ready to cancel and move on...!!!! MB has really let me down....also concerned that if I would ever get it what problems will come with it since it started in production early July and went to B4 in late July...ordered 3/14/19.

Ordered my 450 in the middle of May. Just informed today (12/3) that it has been built but can take 3 weeks for delivery. (Portland Or area). Seems a bit long for a two to three day train trip.

Mine took 18 days from leaving the plant to the dealer. They have trains directly from the plant to each destination. They may need to switch cars once or more times. Then they have to be unloaded at the railhead and trucked to the dealer.

I see that a lot of people here don't say what specific model they ordered: GLE 350 are not delayed. GLE 450 can get delayed because of some parts shortage.

How did that compare with your expected date: I was told to expect a Nov. or Dec. delivery. When I ordered my 2013 back then it took 6 months to deliver so this was not too unexpected.
