Garage Door Opener

This has happened two times since I took ownership Of my GLE 450 in December. I have 3 garage doors programmed (with rolling codes set properly) in the remote control in the rear view mirror. Occasionally, , the car will drop one of the doors while the others remain OK. In talking to my SA, he recommended clearing the settings and reprogram the doors again. I have done so and that worked for a week and the problem surfaced. Anyone else having this problem? I wonder if there is a software update that will address this. Thanks

I don't know if they've changed the garage door opener module in this model. The review mirror and garage door opener looks very similar if not identical to the one in my 2013 E350. In my E350 I have had this same issue where one of the 3 will randomly stop working. Tried everything, the only thing that worked was replacing the actual garage door opener (the one in the garage, not the remote in the mirror). Put in newer more modern garage door openers and it has been working fine with all 3 buttons in my E350 for the last 5 years.

Thanks for your feed back . My prior 2017 GLE 350 worked fine for the last 3 years and never an issue. Based on that I don't think its the GDO (installed 2015). I will try to do another full reset and see what happens.

I have three rolling codes doors programmed into mine. So far, I have had no problems. My openers are Lifmasters with the purple antenna wire. You may find some troubleshooting hints on the HomeLink web site.

It’s always worked on mine, without fail for 10 months now. Two rolling code Chamberlain openers and a gate. One is a 2 year old opener, the other an older model about 10 years old and the gate fixed code with the on off switches. The Mercedes has a long range compared to our Audi.

Apples and oranges I know, but the equipment may be similar in your GLE. My E450 would drop ("forget") its opener settings once every few weeks when it was new. Then I remember receiving an over-the-air (OTA) software update a couple months into ownership and it's never forgotten since (I'm sure I jinxed myself now). Anyway, maybe a software/firmware update will magically resolve yours too?

Thanks for your reply. I suspect it’s more about software than the LED bulbs as the bulbs I put into my GDO were made by the door opener manufacturer.

You're welcome. I also have (GDO-approved) LED bulbs too.

What manufacturer, and did they come with the opener or you bought them later? I have a 3-year old Genie.
Edit: Never mind - found Genie LED ones.

have you considered the Garage door opener cannot hold any new codes so it ends up removing the codes as FIFO (first in First out)

I had to clear out all the codes in my garage door opener as I had several remotes and several cars over the years

Clearing the opener cache helped my situation

My home/garage is fairly new (5 years) and only 2 cars have been programmed. The issue I have is that it successfully programs and works for a week or so, then stops functioning. I have cleared the car home-link and reset it. Time will tell if this works. Thanks for your input.

Great advice! It happened to me recently but I thought that my Chamberlain just wouldn’t program. If it dropped the oldest one that would normally be OK since the oldest programmed car might be gone. It might depend on the age and model of the opener.
