We just checked with the sales manager. The GLE 350de has been in Bremerhaven since 27/09 for european controls and CE approval. Probably 2 or 3 weeks of waiting.
Interesting. I know M-B is in trouble with the EU for the latest episode of Dieselgate.
Here in the U.S. we ordered a 2015 GLE Bluetec, which was built and sent to Maryland, ostensibly to get on a transport for delivery to the Dealer, then to us. It sat there for months, until M-B "cancelled" the order.
At the time VW-P-Audi was in the crosshairs of the politicians, and M-B ultimately decided to cease delivering all diesels (except Sprinters) to the U.S. I hear that the Built cars (including ours) were shipped to other parts of the world and sold. Not sure about that, but sounds plausible.
Let's hope that the EU politicians don't steal your car, too!
As an aside, we then bought a '15 Cayenne Diesel, which we got Dieselgated out of (no settlement, either), and bought a used '14 ML Bluetec.

My SA also checked mine, but its not scanned in BH yet.. He said he never had it happen to him before. (It was one the same ship as yours)
Cant wait!

Hi, any news ? Do you know if your car will need to go through MB France in Moselle before you get it or will it be send directly from Bremerhaven to your local dealer ?
Hello,
The GLE 350de is still in Bremerhaven without explanations for these 3 weeks or more. It will then be transported to Creuzwald at Tramosa, which provides logistics and dispach for France.
Additional question: what type of charging station do you have for class A. The Mercedes EQ offer via Proxiserve is a basic 'Newmotion Home Basic' wallbox which delivers a maximum of 4.7Kw for 16A without external control. An opinion ?
May be it takes a long time because it's one of the first 2021 model to import to France ?
My A-Class arrived in Moselle for last check then it disaperded during 1 week of transportation ...
My A-class is standard with 3,6Kwh built-in charger, but the GLE will get 7,2Kwh (even more on DC mode).
So I have taken the New Motion Home Basic which can be set at 7,2Kwh (it's just a software change), the costs was 350€ more than the amount offer by Mercedes and Proxiserve charged me for that (knowing that in 2020 you can reduce your revenue taxes up to 300€ for this kind of installation).
To set up the 7,2kW you need to have a dedicated wiring from the plug to your electric board with a 10mm2, Proxiserve will add a specific fuse for protection.
Just asked Proxiserve to do a quotation with 7,2kWh plug. I think it's definitely more confortable to charge a GLE (4h15min from 0-100% SoC).
Hi, I'm new to this forum, really glad to see there are some GLE 350de users active here.
I ordered mine last week from Malta (Europe), Production month February and scheduled for Delivery in May 2021 (7 months wait time).
Look forward to see all your feedback and contribute once I have mine!

I can set my wallbox to 7,2 kw but seldom do it. If you have a ordinary way of use the car is parked at home every night, and the car is in 100% SOC in the morning even with 3,6 kw. The slower charging the better for battery life. 4,7 kw is enough.
Aren't you able to define the maximum charging option ?
On my A-Class you can set on MBUX 8/10/16amps. I suppose it's possible to choose between 10/16/32Amps on the GLE, doesn't it ?
In this case I would suggest to take the higher powers socket so if one day you need to charge quicker than through 16amps (3,6kWh) you could do it on 32 Amps (7,2kWh).

My car is stuck in Bremerhaven too!

On my GLE MBUX you can choose between 8 or 10 amps. I think this is when you use the «emergency charger» provided with the car. The lack of the 16 amp alternative can be due to national regulations. When I use my wallbox the car uses all the power the box provides - up to approx 7,2 kw if I choose that.
Hello,
I am looking for some advices about the new GLE 350 de PHEV to replace my 2012 ML 350 CDI in France.

Hi I have been running A GLE 350de for 2000 miles now having picked it up a month ago, it’s a fabulous car on so many levels. I ordered on March 1st deliver to the dealer Sept 18th,
Hi How are you getting on with your GLE 350de, I picked mine up which is one of the first in the UK one month ago now completed 2000 miles and I’m very impressed, specs differ around the world but mine is Brilliant blue AMG spec 20” wheels Premium + spec.
ive owner fully EV cars for years and I’ve seen the CCS Combo 50kw charger as a revelation in the GLE PHEV, why do you refer to it as an emergency charger, I use it as often as I can when out on the road. Mercedes do not suggest using it sparingly in fact they don’t give any information at all about charging. From my Nissan Leaf days of running a 30kw car with rapid charging over 60’000 miles I rapid charged usually 2 or 3 times a day and it greatly kept the battery health as high as possible, far greater after 60,000 than those relying on slow 7kw chargers. The worse killer of battery health is leaving either fully charged or empty for more than 24hours without using.
running my GLE 350de I only fully charge when I know I’m going to use it within a few hours of being fully charged & no more that 90% if not using it the next day
what is your understanding of the charging management.
my GLE 350de finally left Bremerhaven on Thursday morning 29/10 after 4 weeks. He is expected in France next week but we do not know what the new confinement will still block.
RORO ship Spica Leader should be in port in Drammen in 20 minutes. Means my GLE will be delivered to me by the end of the week hopefully! Beyond excited.. Been driving a C292 since I sold my E-class in august, and I really don't like the ride..

Hi - Certainly haven't seen many (any) on Uk roads.
Out of interest, how long way the lead time before delivery? Ordered mine August but via lease company so info virtually non-existent! I'm assuming won't be until Feb/March but ever hopeful!
How are you finding it?

I´m not sure but I think something is "lost in translation" here. It sounds like you know your way around EV cars I agree, the CCS capacity is great. I think its actually 60 kw(?). When I say "emergency charger" I refer to the little box which is provided with the car, the one you put in household sockets. At home, your regular charging station, its safest to use more permanent installation - thats my point.

Congrats !!!
What has happened to the rear fender ?
They put some plastic wrap over the paint and the paint couldnt breathe. Making a large airbubble behind the clear coat. Did get muuuuch better after using IR-light on it today.
Thanks for the feedback. Our W177 has gone from 50km to 40km in one week because of the low temperatures.
We will start to use more the pre-heating feature in the forthcoming weeks.
Hello,
proxiserve finally installed a hager xev101 wallbox which is currently configured with a maximum power of 25A with a dynamic control on the TIC of the edf linky meter to always remain below the maximum power of 9kva. For the moment, the gle does not charge more than 16A so 3.6kw while the instantaneous power consumed at the meter is 4.5kw. Scheduled appointment at Mercedes to deal with this potential maximum charging power issue which is not documented in the user manual.
