Connect GLE to home WiFi?

Connect GLE to home WiFi?
Is it possible to connect GLE to Home Wifi, while in driveway. Since Speed is insane & free, this helps with updates & Map download.
All I see is WiFi hotspot setup, but could not find a way to connect to my Home Wifi.

Only if the car isn't equipped with the LTE communication module from the factory. It's described in the owner's manual. I believe all models in North America come standard with the LTE module, so it's not an option here.

Their is a MAP update, I downloaded Manager from the site & have it flashed to USB stick... but these sticks need regular USB A port. Now I have the stick ready with update but no way to install it.
Any help appreciated.

Looks like things are a little different in Canada. Here in the USA, the LTE connection etc. is included free of charge for 3 years. Looks like the GLE also doesn't have an SD card slot anymore. I use an SD card to update the maps beyond the home region in my C63S. The over-the-air map update only updates the home region. You'll have to get a USB-C memory stick, or get a USB-C to USB-A adapter.

Only the US maps are broken up in different regions and they are much much larger than the Canada and Mexico maps, which are both single downloads for the whole country.

But beyond that nothing happens, I do see new update on the website, so downloaded on my USB stick, but OTA is not working.
Btw, you do have to select home region even for Canada.

Thanks, that would be we are screwed. In order to update Maps & system updates, 4G/LTE needs to be paid in advance.

I guess I'm a bit confused. You made it sound like your car doesn't have an active 4G/LTE connection. Can you clarify? OTA updates only work if the car has an active data connection. The OTA map update should automatically get pushed to the car as a software update. If you go to Software Updates in the portal, you can see if it's pending or if it failed for some reason. Now this is all assuming OTA actually works in Canada. Sounds like that's not the case in all countries based on the UK comment above.

I see. I think that pretty much answers the question. Looks like OTA isn't enabled for you guys in Canada, at least not for map updates, so you'll have to manually update them for now until they start pushing them out OTA.

Exact same as the above screen for GLE 350.
However, I went got USB C flash, connected & powered up. Went into System Update, this time I saw update... it installed from USB about 10 mins & restarted the MBUX system.
It also now shows Activated Map.

How does one get to this "magical" portal? I have the Mercedes Me app, but I don't recall my salesman mentioning anything about a portal account. Can someone provide a link where I assume I can sign up for an account linked to my VIN?

I dont think it's possible to download maps for other regions. Mercedes Me only shows maps for the region which you are registered, so I only see North America for example.
