I have a 2019 GLE63s which is wonderful however, I have two main complaints:

I have a 2019 GLE63s which is wonderful however, I have two main complaints:
- The known problem with smelly air coming out of the AC. I have had the first fix done without great results. There is a second fix which apparently takes most of the dash apart that I am not willing to have done since I don't like rattles.
- My current GLE63s does not have the running boards. I tired one with them and found they were not helpful and got in the way of getting in and out. It is a bit of a stretch for me to get in and out, especially with the AMG seats that have big side bolsters. Once in the car, they are great.
Does anyone have any information about the entry height of the 2019 vs. the 2021 GLE63s?

There aren’t any 2021’s yet but the chassis/seat/air suspension setting should be the same on the 2020 GLE with the Contour seats. The air suspension settings are different with the AMG line but entry/exit should be similar. I find the side bolsters minimal on the bottom seat and they are adjustable on the uppers. The lower on entry function makes it easy in and out even for short people but it has to be selected each time you stop. I don’t have running boards but drove one with them and found them in the way rather than helpful.

If this is on the AMG, then it would be exactly what I am looking for. A button that you press (like in the Jeep Grand Cherokee with certain options) when exiting the vehicle. The entire vehicle is lowered an inch or two. This would also be great for loading the back, or letting the dog in or out. If this how it works on the 2020?

Agree with you on running boards. I hate them. They get in the way, and typically they get dirt on your trousers. Fortunately I don't have them. Car also looks much better without running boards.

Yes, I went out of my way to find a 63s without running boards. I tried one with them and found the problems you mentioned. I don't thin a button to lower the rear of the car is what I am looking for. All AMGs that I know of have the airmatic suspension. Unfortunately there is only a function to raise the car. Everything else is automatic/speed controlled. I need to drop the driver's door entry by about 2 inches. This would not be needed if the body sat that much lower on the suspension. I guess I have to wait and see what a 2021 GLE is like. I can not find any information on line about the possible lowering.

As stated previously you can lower the entire car with the lower on entry function but it’s not as simple as it could be. The switch in the rear hatch is to lower the rear for easier loading. Any 2020 GLE with Air Suspension Works the same so there is no reason to wait for a 2021.

I answered your question about how Lower on Entry works in my first post 7-31. “The lower on entry function makes it easy in and out even for short people but it has to be selected each time you stop.”

Thanks, I assume that if it lowered on exit, then it would remain that way. I was pretty sure there were no 2020 63s models made.
In terms of talking with my dealer, I have never found a dealer that had this detailed information, including the one I am dealing with now. When you call Mercedes, they don't want anything to do with you. There is no product information person at MB for us consumers that I know of.
