Only MBs - the best or nothing

No, they are not. The four(4) spare lugs bolts (not the five(5) for the spare wheel as was for W166), located in the same compartment as the key for the locks, are exactly the same as the other sixteen(16) non-lock bolts already in the wheels. Cars leave factory with twenty(20) of those lugs in the wheels. Wheel locks are a later on addition by "port" prior to shipping to dealer. This is not just GLE specific, but MB procedure across all its models.

Thanks for clarifying. I have those too, and I have always called them the take off lugs, to differentiate them from the spare wheel lugs.

Here we go- that makes sense. Appreciate the help Ron 👍

Black lugs

I find that odd because our GLE was sold to us with black locks, but silver lugs- pic below. Have any of you guys tried to find black lugs? Otis may have some that will work, but not quite the same spec, special order, no refunds and they’re 7.00/a piece.

I definitely appreciate all the insight here- thanks guys!
Otis Inc. in LA can get them:

"I have some in black with the OEM length of 45mm but no extended lengths yet. The 45mm are not on the website. They are $7.50 each and come from a different manufacturer. I would need 7-10 days to get them for you. Let me know if I can help. Phil"
