2020 GLE 350 SUV Easy Entry and Exit
I have enabled both Steering Wheel and seat Easy Entry/Exit expecting both: (a) steering wheel to telescope up and (b) drivers seat to recline and slide back to allow for "easy entry and exit" when the car is turned off and door is opened. Like others, this feature works on the steering wheel (eg: it moves up/away) but the seat does not slide back and it reclines FORWARD (making it more like Difficult Entry/Exit). If brought mine in for service and the loaner (a 2021 GLC) had this feature and worked as expected allowing easy entry/exit (I didn't even know my SUV had the easy entry/exit feature).
Has anyone solved this mystery? Can I configure the seat position desired during entry/exit to slide back and recline? Don't really want to use the work around (eg: create a 3rd seat profile), seems silly for this car. Is it a software issue, a car configuration that can be customized or am I doing something wrong? HELP. Ps: Yes, I should of had dealer get it working while I was there ....

What if you adjust the seats right after it does its Easy Entry/Exit procedure? I may try this on my wife's profile since I disable mine.
The way the passenger side mirror dips down in Reverse is like this, you touch the "right" side while in Reverse gear, and when it's done its moving, you can adjust it to your liking, how much body panels you want to cover, then it saves itself.

i have FUP3 and its still wrong
previous threads on this have mentioned moving forward is actually intended because its for easy entry/exit for rear passengers... but frankly that makes zero sense to me. logically (and every other car i've had with this feature) easy exit/entry lowers and moves the seat backward.

I wouldn't say the car is overwhelming, but there is so much stuff that I can't remember it all and I just want it to work and just deal with the stuff that is important to me.

Nope. You're not crazy. Easy (not so easy) exit moves the seat forward supposedly as the former has mentioned to make it easier for the back passenger to exit. Only option according to my SA is to set another memory seat position to exit. Haven't any back seat passengers since COVID started.

Nope. You're not crazy. Easy (not so easy) exit moves the seat forward supposedly as the former has mentioned to make it easier for the back passenger to exit. Only option according to my SA is to set another memory seat position to exit. Haven't any back seat passengers since COVID started.

I need to figure this feature out. It’s been funny to me as long as we’ve had this vehicle. My only complaint is I can’t get in it without hitting my head on the upper door sill. I’m not that tall at 6’0” but I have to consciously duck to not hit my head or scrape my hat or sunglasses off my head. I thought I activated this a long time ago.....but maybe not.

I have a 2021 GLE 53 AMG with a 07/2020 build date and it has the irritating seatback lean forward when easy entry/exit is activated. Dealer says they can't do anything about it. I turned off the seat and am just using the steering wheel function now. Can't be a german engineer who thought of this. Probably a Univ. of Alabama or Auburn engineer that works at the Vance plant. My Porsches and Audis never had these simple irritating items that someone with common sense would have thought out. Glad I leased and will be going back to either a Porsche Cayenne Coupe or Audi SQ8 when my lease is up.

I was also surprised at the seat "reclining" forward, together with the steering wheel raising.
Then I realized that, with my rearward seat placement, the seat back was actually aligning the seatback with the door pillar, which actually DOES make it easier to exit.
My shorter wife had the seat move rearward, again aligning with the door pillar.
It's hard to accept that a seat may be smarter than I am.

If yours still doesn't move after the test, maybe Mercedes change the easy entry/exit implementation.

Just wondering, is it possible that your seat back rest is already at the "reclined" position? Can you try tilt the seat back when the car is on, and turn off the car and see if it tilt forward?

I wonder if your driving seat back position is more "up right" (horizontal, straight up, whatever you call it
) and it tilt back when you open the door. Because your second statement seems to suggest that.

The easy enter/exit will move the seat back to a "set" position, and for me and some other members, the set position is more "forward" than the driving position, so it move forward when the door is open.
