I just had the first B service done this morning at the dealer I purchased it from (23 months, 16k miles). $772, less $150 M-B coupon. GLA loaner. One thing that stood out on the invoice, $32.55 for an oil drain plug? Must be titanium.

I generally try to negotiate 3 prepaid services into my purchase price. I’ve been working with the same sales consultant for years. With this purchase of a 2021 GLE 350 I was not able to do it for a reasonable price. He advised me not to buy anything and pay as I go, feeling that it would be less costly in the long run. He said that the A service is basically a glorified oil change, and the B service is an oil change and filters replaced. Told me to let him know when I schedule a service and he will “look into it “. He also said that there are always some factory and dealer sponsored promotions. I see that I just received the $150 promo from MB, however I will not be needing a service for almost a year. What items did you see done on your most recent B service other than filters and fluids. Thanks

- Open recall check
- Brake fluid change
- Fill windshield washer
- One year engine clean service (gas)
- Perform battery test
- Replace engine oil & filter
- Reset service indicator
- Perform brake test
- Replace air & micro filters
- Clean AC water drain

Thanks for your response. In retrospect I am somewhat glad that I did not purchase the prepaid service. There seem to be a number of items that do not require any parts or a great deal of labor to complete. Owning a MB I have come to terms with the associated expenses other than the purchase price. Just took my wife’s Honda CR-V to the dealership for a synthetic oil and filter change, tire rotation and they washed the car for a total of $49.95. And guess what, the mirror doesn’t have a whistling sound. I still enjoy my GLE and would definitely do it again. My son just got his 2021 BMW X3 , it is nice however no comparison to my GLE. You only live once, have a safe holiday.

Here was my B Service list:
- Multipoint inspection (17 items)
- Open recall check
- Brake fluid change
- Fill windshield washer
- One year engine clean service (gas)
- Perform battery test
- Replace engine oil & filter
- Reset service indicator
- Perform brake test
- Replace air & micro filters
- Clean AC water drain
Is the interval for B by time, mileage or onboard computer? I struggle to put 5,000 miles a year on my non-commuter car. My GLE will be my road tripper so no short trips or anything considered severe service - and this equates to a $1,000 (CAD) service which seems a little excessive

I’m really going to miss complimentary scheduled maintenance I’ve always had with Lincoln. Engine clean service? Puhlease!
