Oil Temperature on 2021 GLE 450

To find this on MBUX screen, you go to:

Right screen, click on Home button on right side of steering wheel

Move Screen to the right to “Info” and click on this

Move over to “Engine” at the top and click

A screen comes up showing the voltage and charging in the middle. On the right side is the temperature oil gauge half circle with a blue fixed marker to show where the oil temperature should be. There are actual temperatures on the guage.

My oil temperature is about 1/2 inch higher than the blue marker. It’s in the 100 deg range where the fixed blue marker is about the 70 degs range.
At another place on the screen, I saw the coolant temperature at 90 degs.
Was wondering if anyone else has the same oil temperature as mine? Dealer said it’s probably on the range of acceptance by the sensors. If not, it will let me know?

Any info you have found on your would be appreciated.

Have 120 miles on car.

Good point. My mistake, since I’m in Canada my gauges will be in Celsius.

My oil reading showed 100 C which is approx
228 F. The fixed blue indicator is at 168 F.

My coolant showed 90 C or 208 F which was right on the blue indicator on the coolant guage.

Called dealer and he said it must be okay since no warnings came up but to keep an eye on it.Told him I was idling for quite a time trying to learn the MBUX system. Maybe it wasn’t getting cooled enough by the oil cooler, don’t know,

Anyway, thought I’d ask the forum to anyone who owns a 450.

My oil temp is on the right and the transmission temp is on the left. The coolant is on a different display. You go to the middle display and hit home on the left steering wheel. You the scroll over to service and click. Scroll down to coolant and click. I’ll check though again.

After running a while, my oil temperature runs about the same as yours and my transmission temp runs about 176F. I'll have to check the coolant temperature next time I go somewhere.

Yes, I checked my car in the garage and the oil gauge is definitely on the right, transmission gauge is on the left with battery reading/boost gauge in between.

Coolant gauge is found on the other side with the speedo and tach as explained in my other post.

Oil gauge temperature was sitting at approx 228 degs . The blue fixed line is sitting on my gauge at approx 168 legs. Maybe the blue line indicator is wrong?
Coolant was normal at 208 degs. You would think the oil and coolant temperatures should be close.
There's nothing in the owner's manual about what the temperatures should be. Weird. Guess Mercedes don't want you to know this. Nothing in technical section, very little on specs.

Oil Temp

On the engine status screen the blue lines on the scale denote the temp at which the engine is fully warmed up and can be driven throughout the rpm range. They recommend not running all rpms until it is warmed from a cold start.

Coolant is controlled by the thermostat so it should remain constant after warm up vs the engine oil will vary beginning at ambient temp on up.

It's intake boost pressure, from the Turbo-, and Super-charger if it's a 53.

Higher boost adds power, eats more fuel and gobbles the Road Ahead.
