Cooper Tire Pressure on 20 inch 2021 GLE450

Now, I know there has been some discussion in the past on this but bear with me once again on this subject.

Gas Door Reading:
Front: 31. Max: 38
Rear: 31. Max: 44

Door Pillar Reading:
Front: 39
Rear: 31

Can anyone tell me what you think the sweet spot pressure should be for front and rear for best ride and tread wear? I always thought the pressures were the same all around but apparently MB thinks otherwise for some reason?
I realize when the cold weather arrives the pressures will need to be adjusted upward a few pounds.

Thanks again.

Are the Coopers' run flat? Also I assume yours is a 5-seater correct? Many variables come into play, but one thing I have not find anywhere is the weight distribution F/R.

I have the 350, AMG package with 21" non-runflat, 7-seater, and tried everything from: F/R - 38/38, 35/38, 35/35, 32/35, 32/32 (all cold) and found the 32/32 is actually perfect. It decreases the roll / undulation that everyone seems to experience. My typical load is 2 adults and 3 toddlers, and few items loaded in the cargo area. I do look at the pressure display from time to time to see how hot and how much psi increased during driving. Last weekend it was hot that the tires were up to 97F and even reached 36-37psi. On long road trips typically I go 35/35 or 35/38 to compensate for a possibility of going higher speed and added load.

I'm not sure if anything above 40 works unless you're running an all-terrain 10-ply tires like the BFGoodrich KO2's, or you're bombing down Autobahn going 155mph for an hour or so.

I think you must be reading the gas flap (the one to use instead of the door pillar) as max capacity. What does the "minimum" (top line on the flap) say?
I can't recall, but I think I found 3 over the top line on the gas flap, with Cooper's, on last year's 450, worked very well. Not towing or heavily loaded.

To answer your question about whether I have run flat tires, I just checked my sidewalls.

It's a Cooper SRX LE 20 inch tire with MO stamped on the side as well as M/S for mud and snow. Have no idea whether they are run flats. Don't know how one can tell.

Sigp232:

That site on MBUSA was exactly what I was looking for and answered my questions.
This is an example why this forum is so good for exchanging information from other owners.
Thanks for your input.
