Help 2022 GLE 350 3rd row??

We did a GLE 350(5 seat) test drive, my wife & I were completely sold..
I want to add a 3rd row, but saw some online posts about the ride quality with Run-Flat tires. Any thoughts or comments?

2023 GLE450, 2021 E350 / Used to drive: 2019 E300, 2021 + 2020 GLE350, 2019 E450 Wagon(s), 2017 E300
I have the third row and run flat tires - full disclosure, I have never even opened the third row seats, but I do like the power second row seats that come with the third row. The ride quality with the run flats is decent - not the same rough ride as the run flats have on the E sedan, IMO. If anything, the ride on the GLE350 in general is a bit bouncy and feels poorly controlled over large bumps. Not sure the run flats have anything to do with that - but run flat ride quality wouldn't concern me on the GLE.

Are they 20" run flats? Other worry is not having a spare tire...

If you get 3rd row and 21" wheel option, you will have non-run-flats. This applies to both AMG or non-AMG. Like what others say, you lose having a spare tire though with 3rd row option.

I can vouch that the 21" non-run-flat is much smoother than the 20" run-flats (was able to test drive both in the same day).

I had XC90 for last 6 years , used 3rd row rarely used 4 to 5 times.... Looks I might have to skip 3rd row, cannot risk with out having a spare...

I have 3rd row w/20" run-flats and have driven with 3rd row both up and down. First time driving w/run-flats and appear to be fine.

If you use the third row extremely rarely, I would recommend sticking with a 5 passenger one and renting a minivan when necessary. If you really want the third row (it’s shockingly spacious and the power second row is lovely), at least consider the 21s. You still don’t have a spare, you can’t rotate the tires because of width differences, and there is less sidewall, but at least you get regular tires. A family member has a BMW 5 series with RFTs and they’ve been a real pain in the ***. He loves the car but isn’t even considering a replacement BMW mostly because of the RFTs
