Interesting, did Mercedes send you something indicating they will retrofit your AR and Dash-cam or was this just verbal? I ordered my GLE450 in May with those options and I was told the Mercedes dropped them from the build due to chip shortages and I would not be getting them retrofitted. If you have some sort of documentation, could you post it? I would love to contact Mercedes and try to get the same retrofit.

I was also told I wasnt getting AR on my 450. My build is early Oct with delivery Oct 10-15. I was also told that there would be a credit off invoice and NO retrofit. I would like to have the AR, but not if I have to pay for it in advance and wait four years. I, too would be interested in the answer. I often wonder if the sales guys really put much effort into getting the correct info. Let me know if your dealer changes his tune. I will be going to my guy within the next week for another matter and I'll ask again.
Is there a service phone number or some sort of contact information that we could use to contact Mercedes. My sales rep is unaware of any such program, however that does not mean that it does not exist. Also if you wouldn't mind posting the letter or and image (without your specific details) on this forum. I can translate (google Translate program) it to English.

I was also told no AR on my 22 GLE 450 on order. Currently showing as December 21 build. Dealer says that option is not available to order. In addition, wireless charging is also not available and I get a 200 USD credit on my spec sheet. I am wondering if the dealer will be able to retrofit the wireless charging at least.

Wireless charging as in NFC for phone? That is supposed to be standard and not option. Is this a US build? Not sure I get this. Can you clarify? My 450 due for build 10/4.
NFC is different from Wireless Charging in general and I hope they are not using the same module. Wireless charging is basically the rubber mat in the center console that allows Qi based charging without having to plugin your phone, whereas NFC is the near field technology to exchange secure data between the phone and the vehicle, like using the phone as a key by holding it near the car door.

Ok, it seems like these can be installed by the service center provided they have the parts, which they should in case they have to repair or replace parts. I have a feeling that the US service centers and dealerships may not want to do this as they will not make any money on it. Swedish and European consumer laws are strong and they side with the little guy. The dealerships have strong lobbies and can arm twist the manufacturers to a large extent.
Makes me a little sad, and continuing to hope that I can get Augmented Reality and Wireless charging after the fact.
Spoke to the dealer today and asked if there was an option to choose compensation istead, but the answer was that as Premium Package is part of standard equip in Sweden they do not compesate. Allthough they will do everything they can to find the parts needed and retrofit it at no cost.
ETA is Q1 but might go faster.....

My dealer tells me that AR is only thing deleted from my Oct 4 build. I asked about the NFC charging pad and he claims the only thing missing is the AR,. Did you dealer specifically say the NFC pad is gone? Is your delivery scheduled for Q1 or is that when they expect parts to be available.
I only have AR missing. NFC and Wireless Charging is there. My Apple Pay starts up when I put the phone in the tray..... that must be triggered by NFC. I also have it in the menu.

I'm assuming your are not is US as you have wireless Apple Carplay apparently. It is supposedly not offered here. The wireless/NFC is standard here on GLE. Not sure if it will be deleted in US at this point. I was also told they wont do a retrofit for AR.

Agree. It is most def standard. My dealer never said a word about it and swears the only thing that will be missing is the AR which is disappointing. I asked him for a copy of the confirmation from MB. The sheet that he sent me via email doesn't even show the AR on it despite it being ordered by me. My sheet also looks different that yours. I will be very unhappy if the charging pad is not available. Maybe since my build is so early in production (due to build 10/4), maybe they will have the chips they need. Not really sure why the charging pad would need a separate chip anyway.
