GLE 53 AMG New Owner - Already Having Issues
Well, first of all, hi to all if you, I picked up our new daily driver, the 2021 GLE 53 AMG 3 weeks a go. Haven't gotten to drive it around too much, but this week I noticed the car was acting weird.
When accelerating, right around 20mph, you hear an audible "thump" and the car jerks.
While coming to a stop, right around 6mph, again you hear a "thump" and the car jerks.
Took the car to my local dealer today who has always been amazing with me, and the service advisor jumped in for a quick drive with me and he also noticed that it wasn't normal. The car only has 400 miles and already having issues, which isn't exactly a good experience.
I wanted see if anyone else had similar problems.
It almost feels like something is engaging and disengaging. I tried to a do a search on the forum, but haven't seen anything like this reported.

Doesn't feel like an issue with the transmission as it is consistent at the speed it does.
I am really starting to suspect it has something to do with the 48V system.

Sorry to hear. Start a paper trail with the dealer, and read about your state's lemon law requirements. While not desired, a lemon process could be in the future for this vehicle. This platform has been plagued from the beginning.

My point is, that sometimes these problems appear right away, and it's more likely that you've seen the last of your issues.

This place is a joke.
This isn't the first one-sixty-lemon with problems, nor will it be the last. 2021 models and MB still hasn't worked through all the bugs, part of this being new powertrain options since 2020.

Wrong again…I guess you missed the fact that I had a 2020 & now a 2021. I also had an older beater like the ones you own and are now too embarrassed to list.

Wow you had 2, I'm sure you rented them as well. You must be very knowledgeable. Tell me how much money you burned through during your rental period, that must be embarrassing. I've seen more one-sixty-lemons bought back by MB than you've seen driving on the road.

This place is a joke.
So, a new Casio watch with bluetooth is better than a 10 year old Rolex? Many would disagree. And the marketing experts may have brainwashed the weak minded to keep opening their wallets. 😉

My brand new 53 gle the 48 volt system just went out yesterday. Has to get it towed to the dealership. Super upset. Only got 2k miles on the suv. Been in the shop longer then I’ve owned the vehicle. It’s my wife’s suv and our first MB not making a great impression.

The 48V system is the number one reason I will not buy a pre-facelift 167, and likely not a facelift 167 if there are no non-hybrid powertrains besides the 2.0L 4 cylinder.
Separately, because it's too new, the M264 has not proven itself to be free of the piston cracking (new engine required) issue on the M274 in the C, E and GLC vehicles. If anyone has the courage to own a V167 GLE 350 beyond the warranty period, these vehicles will be the ones to watch.

No more MB:(
Right, so let's get rid of our Patek and Rolex watches and start wearing an Apple Watch, then call it luxury as we drive to and from the dealer to pick it up from service. But hey, it's got the latest wiz bang tech so it has to be better, right? I'll take an AMG V8 over anything simply badged AMG all day. Regardless of vintage.
