OEM Floor mats

I was able to purchase a new set of front carpeted/velour front floor mats for my 2021 GLE 350 at a really great price. Don’t really need them, however, this way I’ll have a set that always looks new. I received them today and went to make sure they were the exact fit, they are. I noticed that the new set has a metal Mercedes-Benz badge on each mat, it happens to look quite nice. My original set is just a carpeted/velour mat with the two snap downs however, it does not have the metal badging on each mat. I realize that this is quite trivial, and doesn’t make any difference whatsoever, however my curiosity got the best of me. I was not able to find any explanation online. I know that there must be a super expert on this site that can solve my dilemma. Please let me know if you have an answer, did your new GLE come with or without the Mercedes Benz metal badge. Thanks

As a follow up I am thinking that the original mats should have had the metal badge, just an oversight in production perhaps. I sure hope that they didn’t forget any other , more important parts!!!!!!!

I have a 2020 that was ordered in February 2019. My mats have the metal Mercedes badge. I replaced my mats with WeatherTech all-weather mats.

No badge or logo of any kind on mine - just very basic carpeted mats. Fortunately I got the dealer to throw in a set of the all-season mats. They're not Weathertechs, but I'll give them a try.

Thanks for checking, don’t really understand why some have and others don’t have the badging. The simple metal badge gives it a more upscale look.

My 2021 GLE 580 came with thin carpet mats.. no Logo. I was told the velour Mercedes mats with metal badge did not exist for the 2021 ? , despite forking over $92.K for the suv. I immediately ordered a set of high end mats from Lloyds. Thanks for the info.

I contacted my salesman via email, a really good guy who has always gone out of his way to please a good customer. I asked if it were a production error, or perhaps the part was not available so the production went ahead without it. I saw on a second set of mats with the badge, they were produced in Mexico, mine, without the badge were made in Austria. BTW, just checked the mats in my daughter’s GLB , Mercedes Benz is embroidered into them. Will let you know when he gets back to me. SUCH PROBLEMS, do they really expect us to drive a car with generic mats? LOL I really enjoy my GLE, hope you are enjoying yours as well

I have a set of mats (front and back) that I'll never use because I got the all-weather mats almost immediately after I bought my GLE. Anyone want them?

I purchased…

My mats from Tuxmats, the best mats I’ve ever owned, great coverage and extremely luxurious. I’ve owned Weathertech and Husky in the past.. no comparison. Still have the summer mats and the all-weather mats from Mercedes in a box.

This is an interesting thread as I learn something everyday about my, new to me, 2021 GLE 450. My mats are thin plain black with no logo at all. At first I though they were some cheap replacement mats but the salesman insisted they were stock. Anyway, my first thought were these were the cheapest looking OEM mats I have ever experienced on a car. I bought some winter mats that I am happy with but will look for some better carpet mats. Thanks!

I think MB OEM ones are terrible. I plan to try Lloyd carpet ones when my 2022m arrives.

For those of you who bought the Lloyd mats, did you get the higher end plush ones? And did you do plain, or with logo? They MBZ logo is a little off for me... would have been nice for a star design or "Mercedes" but I am sure there are copyright issues.

I haven't replaced the floor mats in the Mercedes but have bought Lloyds Mats for by Buick. The Luxe mats (thick plush) held up very well. I was afraid the pile was too deep and would crush down but had no problems. They do hold more dirt however and are a little harder to clean.

I replaced my 450's OE tray for a Tuxmat. Good quality and the coverage extends all the way to the hatch. It's not as grippy as the more rubber-like cleated OE mat, which is both good and bad. The photo below was taken right out of the box. The mat has since flattened out nicely. You'll find another thread on mats here.

I use a black moving blanket, which has the advantage of being configurable for either just behind the second row or the whole cargo area when that is down, though it is not water-resistant. You can also hang it out over the rear bumper for loading protection.

Thanks for the response. I read the other thread and now debating between tuxmat and weathertech. I will also checkout OEM if they changed anything in 2023

I was a WeatherTech guy for years. I won't buy their floor mats until they update their design, but I'm still a fan of their cargo mat and retainer system, and I appreciate that they're American-made. The WeatherTech cargo mat in our GLC has held up extremely well, as did the WT mat in four previous vehicles.
