What did you ask her that made you smile?

 

A good one is always "Hey Mercedes, what do you think of (Insert Car Brand Here)" and she responds with "The same as you, otherwise you would not be sitting here."

 

Not exactly the funny kind but...
(the driver driving that vehicle asked) "Hey Mercedes, how you like my outfit " "I would say: A very nice exterior"
"Hey Mercedes, what's your favourite clothing? "I'm into cylinders"
"Hey Mercedes, what do you think of BMW?" "They are nice, I like seeing them in the rearview mirror" OR "Good friends from Bavaria"

 

The word “horsies” activates the voice commands. I think that’s pretty funny.

 

For fun, ask what is the Black Lives Matter movement. It goes on for a very long time with detailed descriptions. Interesting that it has access to such databases

 

Try, "Hey Mercedes" ...... "Tell me ANOTHER joke". I think we have heard 15 or more different jokes that way.

 

I try to make her understand an address, then eventually give up and say " Hey Mercedes, **** you".

 

Once I accidentally set of Hey Mercedes right when I was telling my husband, “I love you”, and Hey Mercedes answered me back with “I love you too”!

 

I was hoping "Hey Benz" works since it's 2 less syllables. "Hey Mercedes" is just so mouthful.

 

I use the button on the steering wheel for it most if not all the time. Much faster and more reliable.

 

Good idea and probably better to disable the "Hey Mercedes" voice activation as well so it isn't always listening plus interrupting conversations incase it suddenly misheard certain phrases as "Hey Mercedes".

 

That was quite the topic in the early media coverage, and that was my experience in my 2020.
​​​​​​ However our new 2021 doesn't have that sensitivity. It seems to have been softwared out, and it's much improved in that regard.

 

I just say "Mercedes (and the command)" without pause and it works fine. No need to do a two step process.
"Mercedes I'm cold" and it raises the heat.
"Mercedes I'm hungry" and it displays the closest places to eat.
And my favorite: "Mercedes I'm thirsty" and it displays local bars! I love this car LOL

I’ve found the same thing, in fact if you start talking while she’s asking what you’d like to do she stops and listens. But on our car she doesn’t seem to like my voice, my wife gets her first time but I often have to say it more than once before she responds. The button is much faster.

 

It is certainly a nice button to have, I used it all the time to activate LINGUATRONIC when "Hey Mercedes" wasn't a thing yet glad they kept the button and not force you to use "Hey Mercedes"
