Lower and/or tighter springs?

I am new to the 2021 GLE 450, and I did not get the airmatic suspension which may have been a mistake. Bottom line, I am used to a harsh but stable suspension and I know coming from an E63S and Volvos it is different, but has anyone added stiffer springs that may have lowered as well? I am fine with a very stiff ride... I feel like I am bouncing and wobbling back and forth like crazy which does not inspire me to drive spiritedly,.. like I am used to. Thanks for an y thoughts and insights!

Found the Wife a 2022 GLE 450. Bout only options that it doesn't have are aug reality and the air suspension. Agree, it's way too soft. We have bottomed out on freeway rises. Looking at it, it would seem someone would make something for this fairly simple suspension. However, I've not found it. We are looking for a bit more compliant ride than it sounds like you are, but it does need help!

We came from a GLC63 and it was just a bit too stiff of a ride for every day use. We test drove the GLE53 and the sound was horrible (like a ricer) and the ride was too harsh again. That is why we didn't even test drive or consider the GLE63. Instead we chose the GLE580 but even in "sport" setting, the ride is too bouncy, but for everyday driving (for the wife, since it is hers), it is better. However, I was hoping the sport suspension setting would be more firm.

Yeah, since I don't have the airmatic suspension, going to "sport mode" only changes the exhaust (supposedly but not noticeably), and the gears shifting. Had I had the Airmatic, the sport mode should tighten up or lower the vehicle... I am almost willing to add lowering sport springs from H&R or Eicbach or other to lower and "tighten up" the ride, even though it wont be changeable. I am OK with way stiffer, if less wobbly, and perhaps better look??

I'm also worried about suspension geometry change and alignment. Apparently tire wear goes to **** quick on this platform with no OE adjustment.

Good point, realignment should be part of any tighter lowering springs....

It doesn't make a difference as far as I can tell on our 580.

From what I know, Sport mode would make a difference in the suspension tightness, only if you have the airmatic, which I don't. I think my only option is tighter, performance lowering springs,.. and for that and labor, I probably should have gotten the airmatic suspension...

Yes, you should have. I'm guessing there is a really low demand for sport springs on this vehicle, so not sure you will find a source? Eibach lists some for the W164 but nothing newer.
