Brand new v167 GLE not start - 50 miles on odometer

Hi.
I bought a new GLE on January 17th. On January 20 I gave it to the dealer for repair because the car does not start (only 50 miles on odometer). Everything works in the car, but - pressing START / SOPT does not start the engine - the engine does not spin. The seller says that there is no communication with the electric motor (soft hybrid) and they are still looking for something to replace. Anyone had a similar case?

If I could dislike posts on the forum, I would dislike every post when someone refers to an entire vehicle line as a lemon with only anecdotal data when there are millions of vehicles in the dataset. It’s one of the most severe problems plaguing our society that people draw conclusions purely based on their anecdotal experience, and try to spread that conclusion as truth through any conduit available to them. Then people accept the conclusion without any critical thought. Confirmation bias is dangerous.

To OP, your issue could be the 48v battery, which has been reported by a handful (maybe 5) users here. Sucks that it’s only after 50 miles, but better than in the middle of a road trip potentially no where near a Mercedes’ shop.

This place is a joke.
The one-sixty-lemon has been plagued with many similar issues since 2019, especially those with the 48 volt system. Search through this forum or use Google there are many posts just like yours. There is even a class action lawsuit for these lemons 🍋 in reference to the 48 volt systems. https://www.classaction.org/news/a-l...action-alleges

If you look hard enough you can find a class action suit on a brick. Ignore those - they are meaningless attorney retirement plans.

From a forum standpoint, it seems to be a testimonial to the reliability of the 167's, that there are as many favorable posts as there are. That's usually where the complaints are most focused, but we don't see them as prevalent here.

Also ignore those magazines who compare the reliability of older models to the new. They don't have data, so they're reporting is actually baseless also.

I agree that it's hard to find current reliability information, and the naysayers we see so often here, can't provide any basis for their claims either.

At least they are not catching on fire, like Hyundai's, Tesla's, Chevrolet Bolts, and several others. Nor have they been forced into a recall, which is probably an indication that your fear is unjustified.

Just wanted the OP to know your content brings no value and you do this incessantly - hope you can find your way to happiness - its not in the v167 forum

The dealership will get him sorted.

You might post the model of GLE you own…never mind I see you have a Hybrid. ignore the previous posts about Lemons. You are the first to report a battery problem with a true Hybrid GLE.

Thread cleaned-up. We keep on getting repetitive posts in threads that are not designed to assist the original posters but just to complain about the platform in direct and indirect ways. This isn't productive or helpful and if this continues, I will take next steps. Thanks

In 2017 I purchased a new 2017 C63S. I drove it from the lot to my home (11kms). Later that day I went out and the car would not go into gear. I called the dealer and they had it towed back to the dealer. Turned out the transmission was toast. I searched the internet and couldn't find another case of this happening. I was just a very unlucky person. After the repair, I never had another issue with the vehicle until someone ran a red light and the vehicle was totaled. It never stopped me from buying another and another and another MB vehicle. Mechanical things break and it doesn't matter what make of vehicles you are dealing with. I hope they fix your car correctly and you get the enjoyment out of your MB like I have from mine...
