2022 Mercedes GLE 350 Order Tracking For January & Feburary Orders

Hey Guys, this seems about as close as im going to get to anything current on 2022 GLE orders. I went to my local dealer who I have purchased 3 brand new cars from ( same sales guy ) and we worked out a pretty good deal. They gave me 8 grand cash and paid off my 2020 GLC AMG Line SUV and they gave me $2500 off a SUV I ordered which is a 2022 GLE 350 AMG LINE, AMG Interior.....The only way he would agree to this deal is if I sold them the car right away but my GLE order wont be fulfilled by May. So I agreed. I read all over the internet that some people who ordered 2022 GLE's sometimes received them in 6 weeks. I checked the county the Alabama Mercedes plant is in where they build the GLE and there are maybe 50 to 100 covid cases a day and pretty much zero deaths. I also verified that the factory is running 24/7 now. Its now been 2 weeks since I gave them my car, I monitored their website and it was up on the website for one day and sold. I dont want to text my Sales guy just yet but how long do you guys think before ill have at least a VIN number for my order? Do you guy think with Covid rapidly decreasing everywhere that there is a chance of it arriving sooner than May? Whats your order story?

I recently ordered a similar gle. Apparently it's the amg package that is causing the delay. Without it was 10 week turnaround. The amg has a stop until 5/1. I'm guessing for supply issues.

Ordered my wife's GLE 53 on 9/11. It went into production -- as planned -- on January 6, then completed on January 8. It was immediately released for carrier pickup, but sat in Alabama until picked up on February 9 - one month after production was completed. We are picking it up tomorrow (2/12) in Ohio.

It seems like getting the car through production is just part of the problem when it takes one full month to ship a fully completed vehicle within the U.S.

2024 GLE 53 AMG Coupe
Mine is a little older and before the peak Rona pandemic shortages, but I ordered my 2021 GLE 350 with the AMG/Night package exterior and AMG Interior, aluminum trim, pano, lighting package, and premium package, I LOVE the MB-Tex/DINAMICA seats. Anyway I ordered her around end of September or early October 2020 with expected delivery date December 15, 2020. The expected delivery date kept changing from December 15th to December 26th to around January 6th. After the January 6th date was missed, they could not provide me with an estimated delivery date. At that point I complained to Corporate because that was absolute BS and I was about to be without a car because my prior E300 lease was expiring one week later. Luckily MB Corporate gave me free PPM for 3 years due to the wait and unexpected delays. Also this is the first time I ever ordered a car. Usually I can find an incoming unit or one on another lot, but I had to order because the GLE with the MB-Tex/DINAMICA seats were rare and the only ones in stock usually had a MSRP of 70K or higher. My GLE ended up being delivered on February 25, 2021.

Overall it worked out because the dealership was very accommodating and my family has bought/leased so many cars from our sales guy. I would definitely do it again, but maybe like 6 months before my current lease is up if the market is better at that time. As far as your order arriving sooner, don't count on it. Since we have a similar build I put some pics below of mine the day I got her.

GLA
Just ordered my GLA350

I ordered mine last week. It was a line item already for the dealer but hadn’t been built (so I was able to pick everything I wanted). Not sure if that helps speed it up? Dealer said May, but likely longer. Coming from Atlanta. I chose the AMG exterior package with night package, but not interior. Hope this doesn’t add to the delay?

It was probably waiting for a component to be installed after production…getting to be a common delay of late. Ford and GM stockpiled a lot of trucks recently for that reason. They were waiting on chips.

I am in the process of order a GLE 450. They told me my allocation will be pulled in March and the car would arrive in June. From all the research I have been doing some people get there sooner and some people get theirs later. There’s this Mercedes Benz dealer on TikTok that swears that they get their cars between 60 and 75 days. So maybe there is hope

They offered me a good price for my trade in, but only if I sold them my car now. I haven’t decided yet because that’s a while without my own car. I’m thinking about asking if they will give me one of their courtesy vehicles for the time being (I have a good relationship with my dealer) so I might be possible.

how did you negotiate the $2500 of the car? My dealer told me they wouldn’t charge me a market adjustment but I would have to pay the invoice of the car. Maybe I can squeeze something out of them!

I just wanted to say our car arrived and we picked it up on May 10, 2022. So it took a total of 100 days from order to deliver.

That is crazy - mine started beginning of March and was finished early April. It has been in transport over 30 days. You are lucky to have yours!

Which state are you in? Were in Southern California. Whats strange is that they delayed the build of our car from April 1, 2022 to April 20, 2022. On April 28, 2022 my salesman said it shipped via train. So it only took 13 days to arrive to Southern California. I think were lucky with shipping because the Flecher Jones Mercedes dealer is about 50 miles away from our Mercedes Dealer and they are the largest Mercedes Dealer in America, maybe the Largest car dealership in America too. Its such a massive dealer, its like the size of Disneyland. They even built railroads close to the dealer to have the cars come in.

My car left on a train four weeks ago. I don't know where it is now except on the way. I am in the Seattle area of Washington. I hope it comes any day!

I'm in a similar situation in the Seattle/Tacoma area. Ordered January 4 (GLE350 with AMG bits/night package on the outside). Per the dealer it was supposed to arrive on 4/18. That date came and went, then they told me it would be on the train on 4/23. Still waiting--the last I was told is that "nobody is sure where it is."

I see I'm not the only person in this situation, but it's still kind of annoying.

(first post, yay me)

"On the train" status.

Yep, in the same boat, er, the same train as others. Cirrus Silver 450 with AMG appearance and the 21" rims. Dealership says mid-June, but I am less than optimistic.
Told the dealership to write in bold red letters "DO NOT MOUNT FRONT PLATE!" on the sales folder. Confirmed today that Mid-City Engineering has tested their remote license mount for the 22 GLE. https://www.midcityengineering.com/product/moto213/

Dealer called

Said that the GLE 450 is showing up on their inventory list. We should expect it on 6/9. I am super excited, but also really chagrined that I will be selling my 14 E350 coupe. It has been such a perfect car I hate to see it go away.
