Which Trim Color w/ this Build?

Building a 2022 GLE 350 with polar white exterior and AMG line exterior with night package, and panoramic roof. So the exterior will be very starkly white/black. For interior, going with macchiato beige/black MB-tex. And so the trim? Natural grain grey oak wood OR natural grain brown walnut wood? Leaning toward grey as it's darker and may look better with the white/black/modern look more so than the walnut which seems more traditional. Thoughts? Thanks!

I'd say the grey oak, myself. I went with black-flamed open pore ash, which is pretty dark but has a nice texture. Not sure how the oak compares.

I agree on your assessment of macchiato with walnut is a more warm traditional classy look while the grey oak is more modern chic industrial two tone look. Oak is more my taste. I think the walnut is really nice, but any time i see a GLE with beige and black wood, my jaw drops. It's so stunning.

The walnut wood is quite beautiful in person and pairs really well with the Macchiato, really brightens up the interior.

I have the Grey Oak and it's just black. Wish I had got the Walnut.

This is such a personal choice

My preference is for the Walnut--I think the interior needs the warmth. Yes, it's more traditional, but that open pore Walnut is just STUNNING.

Yes, completely personal. I wish there were an option for a light open pore wood like ash or maple. I think that would be both warm and contemporary.

It's subjective, but are you open to the Metal Weave trim instead of the wood? When I first saw the GLE the interior was beige with the Metal Weave as the trip and I thought it looked really good.

Was very hard for me to choose between the dark grey wood and the walnut. Saw the walnut up close with the black leather and I was sold. Gorgeous imo. Maybe too classic for some, but that's why they give us options to suit our personal tastes.

As an architect, I would equate it to mid-century modern vs. contemporary. Both are good. Walnut definitely warmer, of course.

if you like it, then yes. It’s completely personal choice. Whatever you like.
