Upgrading from 20" to 21" inch Wheels - Advice Please?
Wanted to get some input here as I currently have a 2022 GLE 350 with 20 Inch wheels. I was not able to get the 350 w/ AMG package (or a 450) without a 3-6month. I'm trying to add my favorite part of the AMG option which is the 21" Multi Spoke wheels.
My thinking is this will work great as I'll use the 20" wheels in Winter/Fall and the new 21" for Summer/Spring. I believe I found the exact wheels I'm looking for (or very very close)- link below.
I found these via a aftermarket shop that I've heard good things about. I have two friends who both used them (one with a Mercedes and one with Range Rover) and they were very pleased with the result.
While car detailing and general care is a hobby of mine; I'm quite new to actually upgrading something like this (also I've only owned Audi and Lexus prior and this is my first Mercedes). I love this car and getting these wheels would take the look over the top for me...but I don't want to risk any problems.
Looking for any advice from folks who have successfully done a wheel upgrade like this? Thanks in advance!
Did a quick and dirty mock up to show the change in look (rear wheel is the 21" front is the old 20").
Also, to add, I would of course purchase the appropriate Lugs and have a professional install done (with tire pressure gauge swapped to the new wheels). Not going to do this myself or anything...but want to be sure I'm not missing any considerations.

If the price is for a full set of 21" wheels, $1k is pretty cheap; I would be concerned about quality (strength) and weight. With those specs, assuming stock front tire size of 275/45 F&R, the fronts will stick out about 1/3" more than the OEM 21" setup, but the rears will be tucked in about 2/3". You could use spacers in the rear, but then you need two different length lug bolts. Also, doesn't look like they are in stock and these days you could be waiting a long time. If you use your stock wheels for Winters, leave the TPS sensors in them and get a new set for the new wheels.
I tend to agree with Hutch that finding some OEM takeoffs would be better - shouldn't be too hard (like this good deal with tires and sensors: https://mbworld.org/forums/market/770937).

If your car is not an AMG package and you are looking into AMG wheels there is a good chance they will be sticking out of the fenders too much.
My 450 wasn't AMG package and I had that problem when I ordered my aftermarket wheels. But I already had planned on adding the AMG styling so at the end it worked out.
How did you go about upgrading to the full AMG Styling as I'd love to get the AMG front end. I am based in PA so with no front plate the AMG front looks amazing.
Thanks for the reply...so basically the OEM 21 AMG Multi spoke have a slight difference between front and rear sizing? This is one think I was trying to determine.
I have noticed that my car with the current 20" does seem to have the more flared black plastic on Fenders...I'll take a picture of my GLE later today.
On the MB website I see that if I configure a GLE with the 20" non AMG:
Then if I swap to the NON AMG 21"
--the black fender plastic is alot wider. This is how my GLE looks- the black stick out a good bit for sure.
I added my location...I'm outside Philadelphia but also in NYC area a lot. As for the deal you posted...are they exactly the same fit 2020 vs 2022?

The OEM 21s differ F to R in both width and offset. Even your stock 20" square setup has different offsets F & R.

If your GLE looks like the bottom pic with the larger wheel flares, then you are sorted. 21"s will fit just fine.

It was a bit of a PITA to get all parts sorted out with the parts guys at the dealership. I will go trough all the receipts and make a complete list of them. But unfortunately wasn't cheap that's for sure lol.

I had no idea there is an option for wider flares on non AMG. Glad you have it sorted out. Fitment is the same from 2020 vs 2022 according to my Vossen rep.
I did 100% confirm I have the more flared arches like Neurobit above (even though I only have the 20" wheels). I forgot to take a pic but the rear flares out a good 1.5" and the front maybe just under 1". I also have the running boards so those black flared arches are one part of the NON-amg package I actually prefer on my GLE. I do a ton of driving from PA country roads to highway to NYC city driving...so that area of the car takes a beating.
@gregw - Can you share where you pulled the wheel specs from...I wanted to check the difference between the 21" non-amgs (like in images above) vs the 21" multi spoke amg...I think the amg wheel may be a hair wider but could be wrong.

If you manage to pull your rims out can you right down the part numbers of the rims please (front and back).
Tire rack dot com sells wheels and tires, also TPMS monitor sensors, I bought wheels for my R230 SL550 on there and they are great people.
When I traded in my SL550 and bought my SL55 AMG those wheels (20-inch with staggered Continental Extreme Contact Sport Plus) had 4000 miles on them since new, so I kept those wheels and had the selling dealership transfer the wheels.
They used rusty lug bolts from the SL55 to put on my nice new wheels. Looked awful, besides I didn't know if the lug bolts were the right length, also the bolt to wheel interface can have different shapes: cone, ball, taper, etc.
So I called Tire Rack, told them what the dealer monkeys had done, and they knew what exact lug bolts had come with my wheels. Sent me a new set for only $30 instead of $8 each!
My GL450 SUV is wearing XIX X15 22-inch wheels with Lexani tires.
