Hi everyone! Long time lurker on this forum ever since the V167 was introduced. Went so far as to order a GLE 450 last year but declined to take delivery. When I saw the GLE 580 was back in action a week ago I tried to order one and my local dealers (DFW area) told me I could get one in April if I was lucky! Then out of the blue I saw this one at Park Place Arlington and couldn't believe it was (1) available, (2) without any markups! and (3) loaded pretty much exactly how I would want it. Talk about serendipity.
My wife and I are loving it so far! Happy to answer any questions in case others are in a similar boat and considering a 580. Before/after unveiling Cannot get over how good the tan interior looks The elusive V8 GLE heart

Very nice. Congrats! I have same exterior/interior color combination. I also have wood steering wheel (wife insisted). I really like the combo. I didn't know 580 has this grille. I thought it came with the vertical slots?

I assume you mean like this one? From what I understand the GLE 580 adds the AMG Line Exterior, real leather and Airmatic (likely others but these come to mind) as standard. The AMG exterior pack deletes those vertical slots. How do you like the wooden steering wheel? That's the one option my wife wishes it had but I could take it or leave it.

‘Those are Horizontal. Vertical are on the AMG GLE

She insisted but that's one thing that she said her RX's bamboo was nicer. This one, while it looks nice, it gets hot and stays cold not like her bamboo.
