Wheel/Tire Protection from MB
Has anyone purchased the wheel/tire protection plan for newer GLEs? How much was it and would you recommend? My build includes 21inch AMG rims with black highlights

I bought a GLE w/ 22in black highlight wheels last week. Wheel/tire protection was $1900 +tax for 7 years through Park Place. In my experience, wheel refinishing has cost $150 independently or $199 at the dealer prices (so easy to add on during a service though). Meanwhile my rear tires are $617/pop from Tire Rack. I've had only one *knocks on wood* flat, more often scratched rims - DFW roads tend to be smooth.
I didn't buy the protection. If you only anticipate fixing curb rash I wouldn't either. However if you are in an area where there are more potholes, I'd highly recommend purchasing it. Tires are expensive to replace and the rims even more so. Wheel refinishing is just icing on the cake.
A couple years back I hit a HUGE pothole in my BMW 750i. I had the BMW wheel/tire protection - they replaced the rim, tire AND air strut under warranty. I'd ask your dealer if the Mercedes coverage includes accidental suspension damage from road surfaces - that alone saved me ~$5K in one fell swoop.

I would self-insure on that. The AMG rims, if not forged, are stronger than the others, and as Jzegel says, curb rash is relatively inexpensive to fix. I 've only had non fixable tire damage once in many years; judge by your own history.

Mine was about $2500 as well, from MileOne. I had a tire get a nail, and they replaced it under the package. So I've already racked up $500 in value (yeah, those rears are expensive!) I have some road rash on at least two wheels, and I've got 30 months left on the lease. This is the first time I've decided to buy the package, so i'll see how it turns out in the end.

Got the Fidelity Road Hazard which covers all sorts of stuff and no limits from MJ here on the site. Also Highline on the site also offers them. Great service and prices. 7 years, no limits, includes more than just tire and wheel for $2k complete.

Limit $5000, not unlimited, not sure if it's better than auto insurance. Only Premium plan covers curb rash, but most causes seem excluded.
Lots of heavy reading there.
It seems that the M-B plan may be better, but I refused both and lowered my deductible. Added $40/year to my auto insurance bill. Part of my annual insurance review.

Just took delivery of my 2025 GLE350 SUV. 21 inch AMG multi spoke wheels. Got a 7 year / 84 month agreement for $2,600.00. Includes key FOB replacement ( $1,000.00 each ). Dent & paint coverage ( size of a softball ) and full replacement of tires & cracked rims / refurbished road rash on rims. We keep our vehicles for 7 - 8 years….got our monies worth on our 2017 E Class with run flat tires.
