GLE 53 Coupe Tires and Steering help please

Hello all. I thank everyone for the incredible source of information as I learn our new GLE 53s. They are both lovely and particular.

Probably like dating a supermodel.

Anyway. I'm attaching a picture of the tires after I swapped to my winters. (what a debacle that has been BTW. Learned about the log bolt change the hard way)

I get the crabbing, understandable with wide tires and AWD. We have Audis and one time a RRS.

My issue has been the darting and wobble I feel when going down the road. Like it's on stilts. And I can feel the vehicle really fighting itself sometimes. I'm in Wisconsin. Maybe this is just the affect of cold weather? But then I noticed the tires when I brought them home. Please check out the fronts vs rear. The ride is night and day different with the snows.

The red marked picture is my fronts. Both identical. We have a 2022 with 3300 miles.

It looks like your tire pressure is too high, so you are riding more on the center of the tire and don't have optimal contact patch. Which pressures are you using? The door sticker in the USA is useless. It only shows the max load pressure, which is only really suitable with a fully loaded car and doing top speed. You want to use the normal load pressure, which is found on the sticker inside of the fuel door. That pressure is lower to account for the lower weight of the car if it's just you and maybe a couple of passengers with mostly empty trunk. With the higher pressure on the door sticker and not enough weight in the car the tires will balloon in the center slightly.

Thank you for the response. I think in actuality, I was running a low tire pressures since I bought the car when it was warm and it's now in the teens. I'm very cognizant of tire pressures, as I own a trucking company.

I'm more speaking to the choppy wear pattern and the dodging and darting feeling I'm getting from the car with these tires

Yeah, not sure, but you can clearly see that the grooves where you circled it are completely worn down, whereas the rest of the tread still pretty much has all the grooves. Surprisingly your inner tire wear is also pretty good. AMGs have quite aggressive camber setups in the front. More so the 63 than the 43 and 53 models, but I'd expect your wear would be more towards the inner part of the tire. Have you had the alignment checked after installing the winter tires?

If those are Summer tires, they don't work well below 40F or so, and can be damaged. Are they 22's?

That looks too uniform to be a defect. Is that the Pilot Sport 4 SUV? Most recent high performance Michelin tires have that pattern from the factory. I had the Pilot Super Sports, they have that similar pattern when new.

Pilot Sport 4 SUV:

Pilot Sport 4S:

The darting around is probably caused by the aggressive sporty tread compound that grabs the pavement added by the extra wide tire patch.

I zoomed in on OP's second pic and noticed the pattern too, which diminishes when tread is worn. See my red arrows below and squint really hard:

I think we need tread depth measurements to look any deeper into this.
Can you measure all across the tread?

More treadwear data:
14.4k on my 2022 GLE 53 with PS4 22"
Depth on front and rears is very similar at 7/32 across now, maybe 60% life used up. Took several measures on each tire. I try to keep fronts around 34/35psi and 32psi for rears. Rarely carrying more than one passenger.

Front:

Rear;

Just did 700 mile trip yesterday, car is a little dirty. Averaged 22.6mpg Hwy. Lifetime is 19.6mpg.

Also alignment (too much toe-out) may result in darting and super responsive steering.
