illuminated star

My student said not to order the star because he gave it to me for free. Here is my question, the info is not clear on where to hook up the power too. I have it in the fuse panel, but where does it go, and where does the fuse go as well. I have this done except the power. Any help would be appreciated. This is a 2023 GLE 450

I used a link with a fuse, found a slot that was only powered when ignition was on, connected the wire, crimp and done.

The illuminated star in my opinion seems to be a polished look for the GLE or any model with a grille centric MB logo. I still find it crazy to me or perhaps annoying that the higher end models of the GLE with all the assistance packages can not be spec'ed with the illuminated three pointed star because of the system placement. its an anomaly that only the cheaper lower end or lower spec models can have this option. I really do wish I could

I am laughing at your reply, there is only one reason why you can't get the star. And it is not because it is a lower model.

…and reason is the drivers assistance package. On that package, the radar is behind the star and is not compatible with the lighted star….bummer.

I am fully aware of why the illuminated can or cannot be optioned. It has always been that way. In my opinion I consider it to be a lower model if it is built with less options. My viewpoint can be different than others but I believe a GLE with the illuminated star is lower than one built with the the DAP+ package included in the build. I also believe a 350 or 450 is a lower model than the 580 or AMG powered variants as well. A 57k bone stock GLE really is a lower model than one stickered at 118k.

I don’t disagree, I think the Illuminated star should be standard with a software toggle in MBUX settings to turn it on or off with the headlights. The DAP radar could be relocated under the star. I also think the same size tires on all 4 corners should have the same wheel offsets…unfortunately, Mercedes thinks otherwise.

it doesn't matter the model, it is the feeling each person gets from their particular vehicle, and what others have or think is of no consequence to that persons ownership.

I totally agree and that goes for everything in life. We all have our own thoughts and opinions and one should never care or be concerned with what others think or say when it comes to insignificant things. Some people love me, some are jealous/envious and others hate me I'm sure. At the end of the day I don't really care my head still goes on the pillow at night and I don't loose a minute of sleep.
