Hi All, first time post, appreciate the help and suggestions in advance!
My mom got stranded with a flat tire in her 2021 GLE 450. I came out to change it, and found that the lug nuts for the original tire don't fit the spare. I've been reading through comments on this site, and that seems to be an issue.
However, here is my problem - the spare tire's specific lug nuts should have been included in the car.
I found the lug nuts online (Wheel Bolt - Mercedes-Benz (000-990-44-18)), but shouldn't they be included already? Luckily she got stuck very close to home, and we had to tow it to the dealer, long story...but if this had been on the freeway or somewhere not safe?
I called the dealer and the service guy didn't even know what I was talking about.
So questions:
1. should they have been included, and if yes, where would they be found?
2. is the above part number the right one, and if yes, where would I store them in the car? just throw them in a zip lock bag and keep them in the glove compartment?
3. should I expect to have something like this for the spare, a kit?
Thanks everyone in advance for your help!

Reason: spelling
I don't have spare tire on mine. Are there really extra set of lug nuts specific for the compact spare? Like a conical vs ball seated difference between the spare and the alloy?
For what it's worth, mine is the flower-shaped bolt (AMG Night Package with 21") so I have the conversion socket handy in the trunk.
I'm not sure what you mean by "flower-shaped bolt (AMG Night Package with 21")", but the main tires had a longer bolt it seems, plus the bolt had a ring as well.
You are correct, there are supposed to be shorter bolts included for the spare wheel.
They're normally five bolts inside of a long plastic resealable bag and go in that empty space you noted.

Like this:
Mine looks exactly the same, including the bolt sticking out. I don't remember, but it must have been shipped, folded in two.
@PandaSPUR Sorry, I thought I had replied to you, thanks for this info!! Any idea what the part number might? Can't find this plastic pack anywhere. Thanks again!

No worries.
Easiest way would be to go to the dealership/service center and ask them for a set.
Awesome @PandaSPUR , I'll let them know, I hope that it's $33 for a pack, not just one. Thanks again
Yea it should be because otherwise $33 for a single bolt is just robbery lol.
I wish the MB parts website was more clear, but that ebay listing has a picture of the pack of bolts with the same part number. So it should be for the whole pack.
They should have come with the car.
Ask your Salesperson to order them, probably by VIN.
I wouldn't be surprised if they were misplaced during Prep. Or, also likely is that another Salesperson gave them to their customer.
In any case, they should be free to you.
@GregW / Oregon Man, thanks for the information, so they're screwed me on two items, the bolts and the triangle, jeesh, thanks for calling that out, making another call to the dealer now.
(EDIT: ah, just saw your note of "not included", will call them anyway, it seems they don't really know what's included and not...thanks again!)

Your salesperson should be able to rectify this. See earlier post. Let him-her fix it. It's his-her job.
Good luck, both with the bolts, and with future flats.

They do owe you the lug bolts. There are different types of warning triangles. This is the type that will fit in that recess:
There are no warning triangles included on cars sold in the U.S. Haven't been for at least 20+ years. That is a European requirement. Edit: oops, I see Greg already mentioned this
