No GLE 580 for 2024 in the USA
I went to ask my Mercedes Dealer when you think I can order a 2024 GLE 580 and he told me Mercedes will no longer will be make GLE 580’s. Has anyone been told something different?

It is not in the 2024 dealer ordering guide and it is not a model that can be configured in NetStar. I wouldn't say I am 100% certain as I haven't found any literature or statement from MB that they are not producing it, but all indicators point to it no longer being produced.

Would be odd as they put emphasis on it and the new off road package in the launch papers. I hope it's just a delayed entry model.

The GLE 580 has (or had) a lot of standard equipment compared to the other trims, so the trim package/option structure is probably taking longer to finalize. As long as it is listed here:
https://media.mbusa.com/releases/rel...ow-even-better
...then you can assume it will be released, and they do revise that document (recently, they renamed the GLE 400e to GLE 450e) as details are finalized.

FWIW, the 2024 GLE 580's are starting to show up in showrooms. So they're a thing. The pricing slams right up against a AMG GLE 53 SUV, I don't really know who would want the 580.

Yup. My dealer asked if I wanted to trade mine in for a 2024.

I might be part of the minority, but I'm truly over the AMG-everything approach. Give me a plush luxury barge any day of the week. The 580 is the better iteration of the upper-end GLE, in my humble opinion. 8-cylinder refinement, bottomless torque, a buttery smooth suspension setup, and no sporty pretense--what's not to love?

Just depends on what you're looking for.
Monday through Friday, I'd take the 580. On weekends, I'd take the 53.

I was in the same situation - personally, I love the grill of the 580 much better than the 53. I ordered a 580 because I want a sleeper speedster. Looks like a 350/450, but is FAST. Had a Trackhawk before, and loved the idea that most people don't know how quick it was (compared to any car, let alone other jeeps) unless they knew their cars.
I have a feeling the 580 won't be around forever, so I jumped on it.

Those that don't want a harsh riding, "sPoRtY", 6-cylinder powered large SUV

There must be something with the GLE53. I've seen several youtubers and owners comment about the harsh ride. I test drove one, and aside for the bad engine sound, I didn't think it was smoother than my GLC43.
Ended up getting a GLE63s with the smaller wheels and acoustic comfort package, and it drives and rides so smooth and quiet, love it.

While I didn't describe the 53 suspension as harsh, (I'd say firm), I wouldn't own one without ARC. Period.
The ARC smooths the ride and improves the handling. Immensely.
Which makes the GLE 63s the only model that I'd own because ARC is standard, but it's more than I can afford.
I hope my 2021 GLE 53 has staying power because I like it.

Just bought 2020
I just bought my 2020 580 in polar white with 23k miles from my dealer in Sanford, FL. I'm in love with this thing! I've been a Mercedes fan boy ever since the first time I rode in my uncle's 1993 600 SEL, it was 1994 and it was love at first ride!
I love the American market for used Mercedes, love the depreciation! 4 years ago my 580 was $100k, now it's $55k 😁 I'll never buy a brand new Mercedes, lease is ok.
