Hi, I am planning to Order 2024 GLE 350 with 3rd row seating. I know it will come with Run Flat Tires. Can you guide me whether I need to select 19 inch or 20 inch Wheel. I am looking for low cabin noise
Noise should be less with the 19” since it has a smaller contact patch to the road. But looks worse because they are skinny and have a smaller overall diameter compared to the 20”.

As others have said, the 19" tires are way undersized for some reason (about 2" smaller OD than others) and do not look appropriate. I would get the 20s for that reason alone. If you want the AMG Exterior package you need 20s to fit the brakes.

For 2024, the tire size has been updated and the 19s are now 255/55/19 instead of 255/50/19 meaning they're now essentially the same size as the overall size of the 20s and 21s and 22s.
I thought it may just be a change on the 450e plug in, and there are very few GLEs with 19s listed for sale right now, but my local dealership has one and I think it's pretty clear these are chunky tires that fill out the wheel wells well, so I'm 99% sure these are also 55 series tires like the ones on that 450e in the video.

Those do look chunkier, however 255/55-19s are 30.0" d., versus the OEM 20s & 21s that are closer to 31". 255/60 would be a more appropriate size - are you sure these are not that?
My 350e came with 275/55R19.
I hate huge rims, so went with the smallest I could spec. My only regret is there's barely any choice of tyres in this size.
Does the 18" wheel fit the 350e? Might go for that and a bit chunkier tyre when these wear out.

In the US The Tire Rack lists 8 all-season choices (+ 1 Winter & 1 Summer) in 275/55-19, so not bad. Based on my experience I would recommend the Pirelli Scorpion Zero AS which have performed well and seem to be long lasting for me. 18s might work if you don't have the Sport brakes, but hard to know without a test fit.

I've got a set of good winter tyres (Continental WinterContact TS 850 P), and the brand new set of the ugly summer tyres it came on (Pirelli something I think) - seriously, the side wall has some sort of fugly pattern, I hate it.
I was more looking towards maybe replacing them with something more A/T oriented when this summer set wears out, since one of my uses for this car is camping. There's barely anything in a 31" A/T with 19" rim. In 18" there look to be some more options. I can ask the dealer if they have any 18" wheels kicking around I can test out at some point. I don't think I have Sport brakes since I don't have the AMG pack?

The W167 went to larger lug bolts, so any 18" wheels the dealer might have would likely not fit. I found these two choices in 31" AT tyres:

Not always true you will get run flat tires. I have a 3rd row seating and I got the regular tires plus a inflator kit. Talk to your dealer and make arrangements that they give you the regular tires and inflator kit. Get the 20" but make sure to think VERY well if you will size up in the future. If you think you will size up or get winter tires fork up the $1000 for the 21" now vs pay almost $8k for the entire setup later on then spend $3000 for a 20" winter setup.

I custom ordered GLE 350 with 3rd row and the quote paper shows extended mobility tyres and they said it is only option for 3rd row model. is there any way we can change to non run flat tyres

No, there is not, unless you order the 21" wheels. On rare occasions (e.g. shotgun_banjo) your vehicle might have them, probably due to a shortage. But as a rule you will get run flats. And it would be very unusual for a dealer would make a switch.

You are Correct. The tyre size for 2024 GLE of 19 inch wheel is changed. It is 275/55 R19 and the overall size of Rim and tyre combination is 0.1 inch bigger than 20 and 21 wheels.
