I bought a 2023 GLE 450 months ago and it’s fairly new. There is this annoying rattle sound from the trunk when the car goes on small pothole or uneven road. I think I have pinpointed the spot of where the sound is from. Attached the picture. The sound come from the interior area around the light.
Wondering if anyone had similar issue and manage to fix. Much appreciated!
Check for anything loose or moving in the spare tire well. Sounds originating from there will reflect off the rear window and sound like they are higher in the car.

agree. It’s possible people put that small case with extra tire lug nuts that came with the car in the spare tire area. I almost did that and thought about them rattling.

Good point.
I put a white glove in my locking bolt box to stop the rattle there.

Lower the lift gate/hatch, and gently press the rear hatch glass around the hatch frame. Make sure the glass is seated securely in the frame…there should be no sound. If it makes noise have it fixed under warranty.
I have this same problem and found the problem to be the gas-tank lid. I was able to reproduce the sound by opening and closing the rear right door. I've yet to make an appointment to de dealership, however.
Same issue here, the plastic insert inside the gas flap is defective and ratlles and needs ro be replaced under warranty.
Dealer has to paint gas flap, so it takes a few days to get the car back.
good luck.

Not a GLE owner, but I've been dealing with a similar issue in my 24 GLS with very similar noise location as the OP. Low rattling noise, only discernable when coasting or driving below 20-30 mph when hitting a small pothole or uneven road (or coming to stop). All windows, interior panels, gas cap/cover, seem to be ok. Emptied out the spare tire compartment to no avail so I thought it must be from under the car/suspension/mechanical. The dealership tested extensively and didn't find anything wrong mechanically and they pinpointed the issue to the spare tire compartment cover being loose (according to them, the noise went away when they removed the cover). They tightened it and put some felt tape at the edges and it helped somewhat but the noise is still there, so they are ordering a new cover and will replace it next week. Will let you know if that fixes it.
I had a similar rattle in my 2020 GLE 450. Turned out to be the sun shade for the glass roof. When it's open, it rattled more than when it was closed. The dealer managed to fix it and had no issues afterwards.
