When in any mode it just started to make this whurling sound like as if the front differentials empty.
when in off road mode it sounds 10x worse.
anyone have this problem yet?

 

So do you hear this noise just in idle or increases with speed?

 

Its a low speed under 17mph whurling sound.
mainly when warmed up not as loud when vehicle is cold.
It also gets pretty loud when turning left, at an intersection doing about 15 while turning. Most loud when coming to a stop and letting vehicle slow itself down without brakes

 

Maybe CV boot leak, clutch disc in transfer case (change out fluid and drive around in tight circles), power steering (top it off)? Tough one but maybe check those out.

did you find out what this is? i've had to occured twice recently on a long road trip. if i remember, it was when it was in Comfort Mode, and I was not on the gas pedal nor on the brake, but letting the vehicle roll forward on a slight decline. going probably 5-8 mph

The car had this whirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrlllllllllllll sound that lasted a good 5-10 seconds, before it went back to normal. no idea what was wrong with it but i found it relaly weird

been 1 week at dealer.
they have the lead cdt tech and shop foreman on it. Doesn't sound like they've dealt with it before. But they have the big guns on it.

let us know what the diagnosis is... (if they can find it). i'm on 27k, 21s OEM 4matic. i haven't used offroad so i can't tell what it'd be outside of Comfort mode.

 

If you could please test it in off road mode on the street and just go 0-25 an slow down with engine brake only if its really loud groaning then def same issue.
just got a reply from tech they are replacing the front axle

22s oem.
they didn't say why it failed or what failed on it. Just an axle was on order and they had their lead cdt and shope foreman on it .( whatever that means)
Will report back when i pick up the car and decide weather or not its fixed. So far dealer i go to has been really great on the customer service side of things.
